15k pre-paid service, getting Nismo sways installed...

Dealer Internet pricing had them at $516ish but the 25% off additional at checkout was the deciding factor. Saved $125 bucks!!! I pre paid for all service, oil changes, and all available warranties and extended plans. I was considering bigtime the Stillens. But, with the savings and also not compromised any pre paid warranties I'm a happy camper. Was a little over $400ish. I'll get my cars second 15k mile oil change and have them install the sways. I do feel good about it, promo codes on the estore site, good thing I saw that and tried it. Good savings!!!

How long between oil changes?

barncobob 05-11-2016 05:04 PM

im hoping its not 15K between oil changes:eek:

bhandy 05-11-2016 05:34 PM

No, new car purchased 8/1/15. 15k miles, second oil change. First was at 5K miles, they scheduled 2nd for 15k miles. I've actually driven the car a bunch just to get some miles on it. I have a honda crv as my daily driver when I have to commute.

Wait....Dealership suggests 10k OCI (oil change interval) on the VQ37?

You sure the second oil change is not scheduled at 10k or that the it's a typo from service adviser?

bhandy 05-11-2016 09:12 PM

The stated is correct. I've thought about paying myself elsewhere at the 5K interval in mileage while still using all prepaid oil changes and service. But yes, 10k is what the dealer says.

MacCool 05-12-2016 04:04 AM

10k interval is certainly way beyond what Nissan says is necessary to keep the warranty valid. Their warranty specs say 5K. I'd never go 10,000 miles between oil changes. I'd say that they either mis-typed the interval, you misunderstood, or your dealer is FOS.

Nissan wants 5K OR 6 month oil changes to keep warranty in effect

Would of sold you my nismo sways for $200...

15k pre-paid service, getting Nismo sways installed...

What else did you get besides an oil change and an hour of labor to install the sways? Sways are one of the easiest DIYs you can do. Hopefully there's something else in there or you got taken for a ride. Are the extended warranties still valid when you don't follow the service schedule that Nissan wants for the car?

bhandy 05-12-2016 11:06 AM

All the printed oil change intervals after first 5K change show 10k. I'm all over this stuff. I've owned 2 Audis, 1 porsche, 2 corvettes. I'm well versed with the service plans and warranties. I've always been proactive in explaining back to the dealer what's specified and more importantly what I want and expect of them the dealer. My dad's new Stingray corvette is same with his oil change pre paid service plan. I'll be on the dealer each and every time, I won't compromise warranty by diy. If they break something they fix it and I'll leverage something else out of them.

Chuck33079 05-12-2016 11:08 AM

I thought the manual specified a 5k oci? The dealer doesn't get to change that because it's cheaper for them on the prepaid plans. It's spec'd by Nissan, not the dealer.

barncobob 05-12-2016 11:24 AM

im a DIY for oil changes and such....I like knowing what brand oi/ filter they are using....dealers don't use top shelf items:eekdance:

I don't know about Audis, Porsches, or Stingrays. I know about Nissans and the oil change interval after the first 5k is every 5K.

bhandy 05-12-2016 10:38 PM

I will post thoughts of how the sways feel after they get installed.
