same here, too it to dealer they said its normal and nothing they can do to fix it.

You could pull the pads and see if you're hitting the wear indicators on them.

Inspect the pads, as per Chuck33079. Inspect the rotors while you are there. If the pads and rotors are OK, then bed-in the brakes.

Mine in the front have started this and I've only got 21k on the original brakes. Im thinking about taking them out and using brake grease on the metal part of the pads if everything else looks fine.

Have that issue on mine just in the morning, once they warm up, they are fine. How long do OEM pads last? i've got ~30k on mine.

Also, check to see if they're OEM pads. If the previous owner went to the track and left more aggressive pads in there it would also explain the squealing. My car sounds like a slaughterhouse sometimes when I brake. :p

and thats normal?

If the pads still have plenty of meat on them, try re-greasing between the backing plates and pads. I need to redo mine now. They are squealing at low speed sometimes when I'm not even on the brakes. I do have Carbotechs on there so they always squeal when braking at low speed. It may have gotten worse because of my last track day, it was raining. :shakes head: The cold weather can make them squeal more too.

If you're on aggressive track pads. Are you getting a significant amount of brake dust?

NORAIN 01-05-2016 03:11 PM

Lots of dust...instantly! From Carbotechs. But they STOP and take HEAT very well, so it's worth it to me. Main reason I got black wheels.

if ure on the akebono's dont brake 'slowly'. sport brakes and bbk's like short and firm braking vs gentle braking.

i suggest doing 3-4 hard braking from 55mph to 25mph on an empty road and drive around a little bit to cool it down. should clean it up nicely.
