SPL eccentric lock out kit?

Got swifts springs that I'm about to pop on stock sports shocks. Bought SPL rear camber arms, & SPC toe bolts. I get what both those do, but do I need SPL ECCENTRIC LOCK out kit as well? Not quite sure what it does.

You can use the un-centered washers and bolts to change the alignment because the stock arms are not adjustable. Since you change the arms to adjustable ones, you can use the eccentric lock out kit to get rid of that.

Yup...

:iagree:

The lock out bolts replace the eccentric bolts on the inboard end of the camber arms. Since you replaced (are replacing) the 'essentially non-adjustable' stock arms with the adjustable SPLs there is no longer any need for a 'second' camber adjustment point. The SPLs will give you all the adjustment range you'll ever need and you'll never have to worry about the eccentrics 'slipping' if you were to leave 'em in there.

Just be aware that you'll only use half of the lockout kit. The remaining 2 bolts and 4 little square plates would only be used had you gone to an adjustable mid-link. Since you went with toe bolts they serve no purpose.

Yup. That's why I bought lock outs from a vendor that would see me just two instead of being stuck with the extra pair of SPL lock outs.

Who? From what I gather yall are saying I'll only use 2 vise the 4?

Yes, you only use 2 of the lockout bolts in your case. Had you replaced the midlink with an adjustable one (SPL makes them), the other two lockout bolts would be used for those.

FLUJOKE 09-03-2015 11:30 AM

Hmmmm who can sell me 2? If not I'll just sell the other 2!

I have a SPL lockout kit. I don't have the midlinks, so I only need half the kit. If you want the other 2 bolts and 4 washers, let me know and they are yours for the cost of shipping. Privileges of a premium members.:tiphat:

Found my kit and it has 4 bolts and 8 washers. 2 bolts are one length and the other 2 are a different length. The difference is about 1/2". Does it matter which bolts are used with camber arms?

FLUJOKE 09-09-2015 06:09 PM

Hmmmm. I'm not sure. Anyone know the answer?

2 bolts are 3 1/8 with 1 3/4 shoulder. 2 bolts are 3 1/2 with 2 1/8 shoulder.

I believe the shorter bolts are for use with the camber arms. Easiest way to know for sure is remove the eccentrics and compare the lengths.

I'll take the longer ones for my mid links

Silly Rabbit 09-10-2015 06:21 AM

I will get under the car and put a caliper on the existing bolts and see if that tells me anything.
DEpointfive0, if Flujoke can't use the spare bolts for his camber arms, you can have them.

Silly Rabbit 09-10-2015 09:23 AM

Sounds like we have confirmed the shorter one are for camber arms and longer ones are for mid-links. There is enough thread on the longer bolts to be used for the camber arms. If you still want them, let me know. Otherwise I'll send them to DEpointfive0.

FLUJOKE 09-10-2015 01:10 PM

Hell yeah I'll take em please kind sir

DEpointfive0 09-19-2015 09:02 PM

I'm lost, lol

By this I'm assuming you have the so-called 'non-adjustable' stock arms or you've removed them and have mid links. If you don't have mid links, the last thing I think you'd want to do is lock out the stock arms. The stock arms have a tiny bit of adjustment using stock eccentric bolts on the inboard end. If you were to remove them and replace them with lockout bolts you'd lose that tiny bit of adjustment.
I figure you could lock them out if your camber remains in spec with the lockouts in to eliminate the chance of the eccentrics slipping. As far as the second pair of lock out bolts?...I can't imagine needing them, but I'm not that familiar with the mid links so someone else might be able to help you.
Maybe let us know what your set up is?

Make your own!! Just get some plate from Home Depot and 10.9 grade bolts from advanced auto. It's really easy. Bolts I use are 90mm and 100mm long and I use 2 nuts to lock it.

synolimit 09-20-2015 07:48 PM

Guy it's real easy. OEM arms are not adjustable. So we have essentirc bolts to move the arms. When you buy SPL arms you lockout the essentrics with a normal bolt and plate so nothing moves and use the arms to adjust. We have 3 arms, camber, toe and traction. No one uses traction arms really so if you replace the other two, throw in the lockout at that point.

Oops. Just seeing this. My bad! Ok. Now it all makes sense. I'm in a G37xS sedan and swift springs and Hotchkis front and rear sways. I know I'll need front upper control arms.

Assuming I'll then need rear camber arms as well, and to keep the rear alignment in spec with those adjustable arms, the eccentric lockout kit is the way to go... (2 or 4 bolts?)

Thanks for the reply last month. lol
