They look amazing, and I'm sure their performance exceeds the bling-factor.

Amen to that bro. Just waiting it out a little. Saving the $$$ until its time to pull the trigger. Seriously, I want to see more installed kits out there with numbers and any issues before pulling the trigger on the TT.

I didn't either until I looked at the pics again! Thanks. :tiphat:

I've always wondered if a BBK has an immediately noticeable improvement or if you would only notice any changes after a few hot laps. Care to give us any impressions you might have so far?

Oh and the car looks fantastic by the way!

carfr3ak 10-30-2009 02:09 AM

Car looks very sweet dude. If you don't mind me asking, what made you go with StopTech BBK instead of AP Racing BBK? Was it the 15in rotor? Is it better than AP?

LiquidZ 10-30-2009 08:55 AM

Car looks sweet! Anyways, why did you pick StopTech over AP Racing or Brembo? I'm not criticizing, just curious.

if you dont mind me asking where and how much did you get those for?

Snakebite202 10-30-2009 11:53 AM

That is sick - would those even fit in the stock 19's? The front caliper looks close and those are 20's!

This is actually my weekend car. At this point, I can't comment on any noticeable improvements because I really haven't had an opportunity to "test" out the brakes yet. Actually, I still need to bed in the brakes. Here is an interesting article from StopTech on their recommendations for the bedding in process. I hope this helps.Pad and Rotor Bed-In Theory, Definitions and Procedures

A friend of mine had a set on his M3 from No. Cal and he swore by them. In addition Forged Performance is located near where I live and they have a great price on their BBK right now. It was a no brainer for me. I can't say they're better but they definitely get the job done!

See above. A friend recommended the kit. So far I like them.

Hit up Derek@Forged here on the forums. He'll get you a price. Just specify what size kit you're interested in. Let's say the savings was significant. I think I saved over 1 grand on the front and rear kit together.

I'm gonna try. If I do, I'll see you there! Take care.

The z engine being tt'ed gives some good numbers based on all the g's being tt'ed.
No issues were reported yet and the best kit to get is the GTM one. Forged can install it too. There's no need to wait it out to see if there's any issues.
But what's worth the wait is their supercharge kit... Suppose to be released very soon.

ishthemienguy 10-31-2009 10:03 PM

man, That is sexy

ZPirate 11-01-2009 10:27 AM

Awesome! StopTechs are the bomb. I have them on my 350Z.

Are those front calipers six piston? What is the rotor diameter on the front?

BTW Platinum Graphite is my favorite color on the 370Z. As soon as I can sell my C6 I'm going to get one.

Yes, the front is 6 piston 15" rotors. Rear is 4 piston 14" rotors.

Thanks AK. Yeah, they really make a positive impact on the overall appearance. I think it was money well spent. Just paid off my credit card that I used to buy them. Now I'm debt free. I take that back. :icon14: Let's say credit card debt free  but I'm still paying for a house and my car note.

Those look AWESOME! I've also been very interested in StopTech myself. Glad to see how awesome the kit looks bolted on.

Does the kit just come with Calipers/Rotors/Pads, or did it come with SS Lines and fluid as well?

ZPirate 11-02-2009 03:05 PM

Generally StopTech BBKs come with the calipers, rotors, pads, ss brake lines and high temp fluid. Sometimes you also have a choice of pads.

Once you go with a certain BBK, are you locked into using THEIR specific type of pads? Or are brake pads interchangable based on the # of pots per caliper?

i.e. could I use EBC pads with StopTech Calipers or Rotora, or Project mu?

ZPirate 11-02-2009 06:28 PM

When I purchased my front StopTech BBK I had a choice between Axxis Ultimate pads or Hawk HPS pads. It really depends on how many different manufacturers make pads that will fit the calipers you are purchasing, but generally the BBK manufacturer has a standard pad or two they offer with the BBK.

You can use any brand of pad you want as long as the specific manufacturer makes a pad to fit the specific caliper. That being said if the BBK vendor doesn't offer that particular pad with the BBK you may have to get it from another source and have the BBK vendor sell you a kit without pads. Remember not every brake pad manufacturer makes pads to fit every aftermarket BBK caliper. Most BBK manufacturers have worked with at least a couple of brake pad manufacturers to have pads available for its BBK.

Mike 11-02-2009 07:04 PM

I think that one of the advantages of the stoptechs is that they use a standard Porsche Fmsi pattern so pads are readily available

Useful info thanks! I was planning to do a BBK upgrade soon after getting mine so I didn't wanna hit a snag when I was deciding which kit/pad to go with.
