Stance Coils vs Fortune 500's
So I have been in debate for the past week or two on which coils to go with.
Option 1: I can get a really good deal on lightly used Stance coils and save some $$. Down side is I have been reading bad things about true coils on our Z34 platform. Option 2: I could go with a new set of Fortune 500's with the swift spring upgrade. Good deals on these right now… I have been eyeing the fortune 500s (as well as the powertrix) for quite awhile now and would like to go with ones made and serviceable in North America. Feel free to share your thoughts and opinions on either products :tiphat: |
I've been on stance ss+ true coils since December. Absolutely love them. I'm curious what bad thing you read about true coils. And FYI stance makes them oem style as well

I was not aware of Stance making OEM style. However the used set I have a line on is true style :ugh2: I have read positive reviews on both but just not 100% sold on either one…. |

And from what I have read all the teams out there that are racing the Z have converted to a true coil in the rear |

You won't regret them. I bought new from b2autodesigns on this forum

Powertrix is offering group buy pricing on their coilovers. OEM style with swift spring upgrades available. I just received my R/T version coils, but I'm going to wait for warmer weather to do the install.
Not sure if he still has them, but Axmea? reviewed them here: http://www.the370z.com/brakes-suspen...ure-heavy.html |
I am passing a year now on my stance pro comp II and I also got them from Charles at B2autodesigns. Stand up guy and I love my coilovers. If you autox just becarefull on ruling before you buy if not then Phuck it get true coils.

True types are fine. Based on my guys research the stance dyno's beat out the FA.

I have Fortune 500 with Swift springs. I have no experience with any other coil overs and I have been extremely happy with mine so far. I have received positive feedback from Seb at SpecialtyZ, SSfirehawk and a few others that have driven my Z. I have been on them for about a year with no issues. I went with them for the reasons you stated above. I was torn between them and Stance as well!

Fortune I think quit making 500 and 510 series coilovers for the 370. Just checked the web site and they aren't listing anything for 370s.

I was talking to Luke about some parts and he told me they had made a deal or bought the rights so only they get to sell Fortune coils for Z34's, they probably also did this for some other platforms too…. so yes you can get them but only from THMotorsports. |

Sweet, I think you will be happy with them and they will go low if you want to get down and dirty. I had to adjust mine up a couple of times to get the ride height I was looking for.

Stance is very good about building or rebuilding to your spec as well.
I started with off the shelf true-types, then later had them upgrade to significantly stiffer springs and re-valve accordingly. Super service. They were very knowledgeable and turned them around very quickly. |
I agree. They are built and made in Chicago. FA says USA but I believe that only implies they are "put together" in the USA. Stance custom made my 2 ways for the 370z with a 18k/12k swift setup and valved accordingly. I did have a compression valve on the inside of the rears stuck and they paid for return shipping, gave me brand new off the shelf one ways with 12k springs, fixed this issue, returned mine and paid for the return of there's all free and quick service. Scott was a very nice and cool guy.
