tinting on the Z
hey all, just wondering for us Aussies anyone tinted their Z yet? if so how dark % etc
and anyone ever had trouble with the law regarding lower then allowed tint %? |
I had 20% on my xr6 Turbo. I had no troubles and want to do the same with the Z or at minimum do the rear in 20. Only concern is making the visibiliy worse off than it is.

on a sunny day you cant see in to the cargo area... |
i was thinking of 5% all round, not the front window of course, but woult that be way too dark? anyone have this all round before?
|
Im actually getting mine done tomorrow at Tint a car. Rear screen non-metalic because of antenna, side quarters blacked out and doors legal limit metalic formula one.
I'll post pics tomorrow night. I think 5% is illegal so I wouldn't do it for insurance headaches if you were ever in an accident. The windscreen is illegal to do any tinting. |
I had mine done before I picked it up, 15% all the way round
|
For those that have had this done. What should I be expecting to pay for tinting?
|
No tint yet, but because I'm in cali I'm going with a conservative 35% on the sides and 30% rear quarters and rear hatch. ceramic, non metallic, huper optik film.

check your local tint shops for a ballpark price I highly recommend ceramic tint non metallic if you have sat radio or nav there's no interference best tint money can buy. huper optik film is what I have used and it's very good tint.

From what I can find and what I was told, 35% is the limit.
Window tint laws are opaque - www.drive.com.au window tinting - RACV |
$250 - $350 is the normal, but remember, not all tints are the same and you get what you pay for. So ask questions and ring around a few places first.
