Just wondering if the current owners and future buyers miss not being able to get the OEM 19" Rays with their Z.

This is a national sore point with Z34 owners....

WE WANT THE 19" RAYS AND WE WANT THE HARD DRIVE AND IPOD COMPATIBILITY FOR THE STEREO.

CAPS WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT !!!!

Ellz 08-30-2009 06:10 AM

Heheh, show me an Aussie that hasn't complained about the lack of Rays option.

I know that 370Z is a great car, but the 18" now don't do it justice - not having a go at the car, but the 19" would round off this package perfectly IMHO. Hopefully Nissan Oz gets their act together and offer 19" on the car, as std or option.

370er 08-31-2009 06:09 AM

I guess they don't want to push up the price and the 18s probably give it a softer ride, less road noise. Optional would be great but I don't think it's going to happen here. We are a tiny percentage of their overall market unfortunately. I haven't heard if any changes to 2010 Oz model will happen yet. But yeah, considering they have things like "headlight washers" as standard makes me scratch my head as to why they didn't include 19s as standard!

Hard drive and ipod connection would have been great too. I just want my damn Z already! It's going to be outdated by the time I finally get it :p lol

It doesn't make sense as New Zealand get the 19" and they have a tiny population.

too bad i guess, it's just like how canada doesn't have base model Z's to begin with.

I didn't know that. It really does suck then.

I have my wheels for sale if anyone is interested.

Ellz 08-31-2009 11:37 PM

As good as they 19" Rays look. I would have replaced them anyway. So i was never that fussed. But for people that aren't into aftermarket wheels, it's a damn shame.

Yeah - I'm probably with you on that one. I mean, if 19" Rays are available, and if I get around getting the car first of all (damn), I would keep them, maybe just lower the thing a bit for aggressive look.
But now, when the wheels are not available and looks like will not be available for the 2010 either, the aftermarket is the only option.

Ps: not quite aftermarket -Saw this 370Z, on this forum, with the R35 GT-R rims - damn, looked unreal.:tiphat:

Mr Ed 09-04-2009 03:39 AM

i think it sucks that we got the low class low rent 18" rims.

However, think about this guys - we got a pretty well spec'ed version.

Usually we lose out on specifications compared to the bigger markets. But we got the big brakes. we got SATNAV included (rather than paying $3000) and the black splitter at the bottom and other stuff.

The 18' rims disgusted me so badly that I went and bought a set of 19" rims. I ordered the rims a few days before delivery. However they set me back $5,500.....

I got the 19" Enkei GTC-01 rim in hyper silver.

Front 19 * 8.5 (245/40/19)

Rear 19 * 10 (275/35/19)

Im running Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres. I love them. They came out standard on my 2007 BF Mk2 FPV GT.
