Probably a good idea to run in a bit before the exhaust so we can feel the difference and work out where we want power and pick a product to suit. I'm really confused with these cold air intakes they just look like a lot of trouble for not much gain. Even back in my HSV days these the CAI's were always questionable so I'm thinking maybe just going to K&N mats and possibly just a smooth flow induction pipe might just be the way to go as it will be a heck of a lot cheaper and probably just as effective. Anyway AH370 I will wait for you but I'm going to speak to a friend of mine that brings in a lot of SUV parts in from the US he may be able to help with getting the kits here.

With the Stillen G3 longtube, there does appear to be some good evidence that there is a nice bump in HP, around 10-15atw if I remember rightly. Then combined with some Test Pipes (bugger the High Flow Cats LOL) and a good straight exhaust, there will be noticeable differences. |
Does anyone know how much the test pipes add to the noise of the exhaust? I want a nice sound but would think that the test pipes might add too much noise

Yes i wouldnt got just plain test pipes. It's just asking for trouble. FI have the resinated test pipes so im looking into them.
MrBMW i am also learning towards the FI setup. I am in Brissy yes and i have met a 370 dude on the Gold Coast who is also interested. Group buy of 3 from FI to Brisbane maybe? Stillen Intake hands down, i'd put the money down now if it helped :P |
Hey sorry for late response, been in a new position at work and been really busy :(
I had a look at the FI exhaust but was worried that it may be a bit to noisy inside, it does look awesome from behind though :) I just don't want my car to drone at all, and from what i heard about the Stillen, they didn't have any drone at all so thats why I initially chose that one. I'm happy to go either way really, just as long as the sound is good, with no raspiness or drone lol What's everyone leaning towards? Also how much does the FI cost in comparison to the Stillen? (sorry haven't checked out the price yet) |

I'm going for the Resonated Test Pipes/CBE with 18" Resonator and CF Muffler. I streamed the videos through my PS3 (sounds better than my laptop LOL) and was extremely happy with the results. I've PM'd/Emailed FI for shipping prices to Aus as well. If people want to go that way, maybe we can do that. I will have what ever exhaust does not have drone or Raspiness.
So unless I can see proof that the FI does not have any, then Stillen for me I dont recieve my 370 till Oct and Im already looking at mods :driving: Quote:

Ok well I like the look of this one, but I'm just a little worried about the loudness. There is a new video of it on youtube, sounds great from outside but i'm just not sure whether it'll be attracting too much attention from police. It just seems a little loud at times. I guess maybe we wait and see the shipping cost then decide. GTRFAN you still here? lol he was keen on the stillen not sure if he's seen this one yet. |

As for legalities I believe it's a bit different State to State. I am pretty sure though changing the Cat will "Technically" be illegal. I'll have a look through DOTARS and see what it says in there. The good thing for QLD at least is we only need to get a Pink slip when you go to sell the car, so as long as you dont do anything stupid in the car your right.
