Angle Parking
 

When reversing out from an angle park with a car parked on my left, there is now way to see if it is clear to do so. Am I doing something wrong or is there something I'm missing? All I can do is slowly reverse out and hope that someone sees me.

May have to invest in a reversing cam, I've ordered the parking assist at cost of around $600. However I don't believe this is not going to help in this situation.

Sensors won't help you, but you should still get them, visibility from the back is shocking and reverse parking will be soooo much easier with them on there.. as far as angle parking.. even with my 350z it was kinda 'hit and hope' lol just go nice and slow close your eyes and hope for the best

Don't be put off, with every thing else the car has to offer it's worth it. This is only a minor issue. However, if something happens it's not.

I think the viz is worse than the 350, I just back in now.

As mentioned the sensors wouldn't help in the above situation. As the car is to your left and I believe the sensors wouldn't reach that far around, to detect the car.

The reverse Camera also wouldn't really help the situation. It would help a bit if you a reversing out onto a slow street, as it will be able to see cars coming from behind the car to your left.

With us Aussies having Nav installed by default, in turn then having the screen. You should be able to get a Reverse Camera installed for about the same money;) (maybe a bit more) as the sensors.

If people are interested I can try and get some photos or Video up to help decide on the camera and possibly help with your situation. I can get around to the pics/vid from Tuesday (going back to work tomorrow, shift work).

Never had a 350 and always had cars with good vision (MY04 STI, 2006 MX5/Miata, Mazda 3 SP23 & 1992 Suzuki Swift). I am now reversing in myself, with the aid of the Camera:tup: it really hasn't been easier to do so.

Always been a "slick" angle "park-er", but due to the poor rearview, decided to take my car back to the dealer after 2 weeks for a reverse sensor
Due to the shape of the bumper, they only fit 2 sensors, but at least now I have more confidence with tighter spots.
In short, for those who have their Z on the way, asking for a rear sensor is a good idea. If they ask for more than $600, they're ripping you off

I've ordered the sensors two weeks ago, currently none in the country. Would you have a photo showing the sensors on the bumper?

Hey Rudi,

Initially had my mine on the Nissan rear sensors, but was told later, not much different from aftersales market sensors. Think Nissan quoted $1500 for sensors, but only paid $490 for mine through the same company that did my paint, leather, vinyl and rims protection.

Like i say, they suggested only putting two sensors due to the shape of the bumper. I won't go as far as backing up with my eyes closed, but provides a little peace of mind.

I was quoted $600 for the Nissan park assist as listed in their brochure, so presume it will fitted by the dealer when it gets here. My only concern is that it may spoil the look of the rear bumper.

Hey there Kidd'. After re reading my post it seems like I cant park LOL. I would believe that I am a great Parker so to speak. I am finding that the initial part of turning (reversing) in I'm using my side mirrors. Then it has been very easy to literally just use the camera from there.

So far only had one instance where it was a bit hard. It seemed direct sunlight was shining onto the Camera itself this morning (outdoor car park) and it made it a bit hard to see easily.

I would agree two sensors towards the outside of the bumper would help/enhance parking. Mainly for the closeness to cars/objects to the side of the car. But to honest once you get used to the slight "fish eye" view of the camera, it is also fairly easy to judge distance to other cars. If I had no Cam or Sensors, it would be a bit harder due to lack of vision.

BTW, welcome and hope you are enjoying your car as much as me:driving:.

Thanks for going to the trouble, I really appreciate it. From what I can see on your vid, I don't see a problem. The sensors are quite unobtrusive and don't detract from the overall appearance.
