Cheaper Shipping for Items From the US

We were recently thinking about all the clients we have in Australia for Zs and GT-Rs and how expensive it is for shipping items to Oceania. As a result, we got started thinking of ways to reduce the shipping fees. Since we ship monthly from Japan to the US via ocean, we're pretty familiar with the ins and outs of this process and how it can be dramatically cheaper than air shipping.

So, the idea that we'd like to propose is a system of monthly shipments from the US to a major Australian port. As the cost is much less with bulk shipments, we factored that anybody that ships this way could literally save 40-50% in shipping costs over air shipping.

Obviously, there are some particulars that are important to note.
1. To keep the costs averaged down, there would need to be a minimum of at least 3 guys with decent-sized parts (front lips, side skirts, hoods etc)
2. The destination port would depend on what's most convenient for everybody.
3. Any customs duties would be the responsibility of the recipients
4. Since the shipment would be by ocean, it would obviously be slower than by air; factor around 3-4 weeks total, after customs clearance.

We'd love to hear everybody's take on this; if it's something that anybody would be interested in or if it's not even worth looking into.

Thats a brilliant idea!!!!

Im sick of getting so stung with shipping!!!

Perhaps privately purchased parts could be thrown into your larger shipments too if theres room? For a small fee to you?

Have you looked into the 3PL's available

PM me and I can recommend one that we use. They have been extremely reliable and have even found us refunds on our duty

I know this is old but...

How did this go anyone take it up?

Thinking of using bitcoin to avoid all the fees associated with international remittance, anyone tried this?

Maybe if bulletproof had a commercial BTC account it would save us even more in conjunction with this bulk shipping deal...

Thoughts anyone.....
