Nope... Theres 2 x audio in (red + white) and a video in (yellow) in place of that.

370er 05-19-2009 07:56 AM

Yep, I thought so. That's a bit of a pain... so the iPod can't charge unless you use some adapter and i'd assume the song text can't be displayed on the nav screen. Why they would change it from the US spec I don't know.

Has anyone seen the titanium gray model in Australia?
Was my number one color choice, but wanted to see it in person before deciding, but apparently no one had ANY...

Went with Brilliant Silver:)

GTRFAN 05-20-2009 09:27 PM

Indy - I'm hanging to see the Plat Grey too before deciding. I have seen a white and driving the yellow which were both ok. Leaning towards PG though. I don't mind ordering it and waiting.

The Ipod connector is a dissapointment. I saw two cables in the console area in the one I drove, but didn't pay too much attention to it. No it wont display the track names on the display if it's only an audio link, as it needs the full ipod link to get the full feature set. I wonder how hard it would be to upgrade the unit to the Hard disk model?

I'm also dissapointed that there is no reverse camera. The options list says a reverse assist as an option, but that will just be the sensors in the rear bar. The dealer said they are looking into retro fitting cameras.

The 18" wheels are terrible IMO! I will have to factor in some decent rims now after seeing them in the flesh. The whole car needs to drop an inch too to make it look right.

Does anyone know if we can order one with Brembo's?

Just for $ interest...

Blackburn Nissan Vic
retail - $71k
lease - $62k (which Im leaning towards)

Cheers,
Darren

Heh, I meant Titanium Gray, slightly different to PG.
Brighton Nissan has/had one on display (PG).

I went with Brilliant Silver anyways, and am quite happy with it:)
Can drive it because of a technicality with Vic Roads, go green Ps!:-D

370er 05-22-2009 02:32 AM

I didn't realize you could drive the Z on your P plates. That's pretty cool. Be sure to post pics ;)

Hey are you sure about this? All the high powered 6's are listed elsewhere by vicroads as banned cars for p's - this list also includes the rx8 and s2000, the 350z was on this list so I'm pretty sure the 370z will be on it too...

Thats what i believe also, might just be before the 370 hasn't made the list yet being so new?

Would have thought it just comes under the 200kw rule for P Platers

z88m - Did you end up doing the track day at Oran Park? If so, how did it go?

370er 05-25-2009 11:04 PM

Darren - I went to Blackburn Nissan on Monday and saw a white, a yellow, and 2 black Zs. The white looks very nice in person. I'd probably get yellow or white if I was getting one. When you say 71k retail is that including on-road costs and dealer delivery? I also think it's a pity this car doesn't have a reverse camera considering the blind spots. Did you happen to ask if the 19 inch wheels are available as an option? A dealer at Brighton said the 19s would still be available from the spare parts department... not sure if this is possible though as every other dealer seems to think otherwise.

Indy 05-25-2009 11:52 PM

Heh yeah, I confirmed with vicroads and the police. If it's not v8, turbo or super charged, modified to increase performance or on the list of banned vehicles at the time of purchase, you can drive it.

Now, of course this only applies to probationary license holders who obtained their Ps after July 1st 2007. For those who got it before then, they are restricted by the power to weight ratio, which would make the 370 illegal.

Hey, the 19's are definately not coming in, I wrote to nissan Aus about it and they sent me a letter back basically just saying 'No' without any reasoning... also no other options are available except for rear sensors.. I asked about the illuminated kickplates and they are a no too.

I'm actually thinking that they will probably bring in the wheels once the financial crisis is over.. less options less vehicles they need in stock I guess... really sucks, all the reviews are talking about lack of traction with the 18's.

@Indy, dude if it isn't on the banned list yet then u better get it quickly lol

They should give you a reason, they sound arrogant. The illuminated kick plates you could still order from ebay if you don't mind a DIY.

I'm thinking the 2010 model might come with the 19s but I won't hold my breath. All in all, quite disappointing that they've gone tight arse on options. It doesn't do the car justice.

Already have;-)

@370er
But then again, ours does come fully loaded, bar the 19" wheels and a HDD SatNav system. We even get some extras the Americans don't, like the heated side mirrors, rear wiper (debatable if its an 'extra') and rear fog lights. :)

evse82 05-28-2009 01:29 AM

I was kinda excited when I found out the 370 came out with 275's on the rear... cos 245's on the 350z were pretty bad. Almost considering holding out to see what happens with future models, but i need a car now. They release specs of next years model in September, but I dont think I could hold out till then.

Indy, we gotta go cruising when I get mine...
