omfg is that oregon trail?! AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH i used to play that 24/7 in the good old days. Op, yeah the engine is dead bro. sorry to hear that but as SOON as you felt how deep the car was going into the water, you should have shut off the engine. Gluck with the new engine and as stated above you might as well go FI if you're putting in a new motor. |
Damn sry to hear ronnie hope it turns out ok :s luckily my car was safe in the garage.

Sucks man, should just get the money from insurance and do and LS2 engine swap.
http://www.shopfbparts.com/catalog/19156261.jpg produces 400 bhp (300 kW)@6000rpm and 400 lb·ft (542 N·m)@4400rpm http://www.shopfbparts.com - $5600.00 |
I dunno, the car could be written off.
During the Newcastle storms/floods of a few years ago, my friend suffered the same predicament as you. He had a Ford Falcon XR8 sedan. End result - write off as the engine was absolutely stuffed. Then again, as your Z is new, a new engine maybe feasible. But then you run into issues when the Engine number doesnt match the placard on your car with the VIN/Engine etc. |
That sux mate. Hopefully the insurance pays out for a new car and not just an engine swap. Is there any damage to the electrics or interior? How about hail damage on the panels? If the interior is toast too, the labor costs would be massive and they would write it off.

Sorry to hear about your car. Hopefully it's a write off and you get a brand new one! I didn't know water could screw up the engine so badly. Did you get any hail damage? I was wondering how the aluminium panels would go in the hail.
The storm yesterday was crazy! They are expecting another one to hit Melbourne very shorty - get your Z's under cover. More hail predicted. |
