Yeah another 370Z with a dodggey fuel gauge issue. I was the first to pick up the Z when it was launched April last year. And it seems like one issue after another.

one: dodgy tiniting. Had to be redone twice

Two: Front bonnet didn't align. Nissan dealership tried to fix. Ended scratching the from 2 pillars. Cars had to spend a couple of days being resprayed at a panel shop.

Three: Boot hatch was getting stuck. Had to get that fixed as well.

Four: Battery manged to **** itself after only 2 months. Lucky it was replaced for free, due to Randwick dealership helping out.

Five: The floor mats fell apart after only 5 months of ownership. Got some ordered from the US. Half the price with twice as good quality.

Six: despite of all the issues I still love the car.

Seven: HOT.370 will be for sale soon as I'm going to upgrade to an R35 GTR.

PS. Glad to be part of the forum.

In other news my final light is now back on... The only thing i can attribute this to is as follows:

i go on business trips for 2 weeks with the tank not full, i come back and it's out... 3 or so refils later the final light comes on... each time after that the light is on... I then go on another business trip and the damn f'er is out... conclusion... it rusts or something when you leave it out of the fuel too long... but i don't know why the 2nd and 3rd top dots don't also die... so yeah not a full proof conclusion but that's what i've observed.

Yeah, the 2010 GTR is getting rave reviews. I do like the 370z an awful lot despite a few minor issues that really aren't worth a lot of angst over in the big picture - its a toss up for me whether to beef up the 370z with $30k+ of go fast goodies or stump up for Godzilla.
Hey life is tough...hehe

HOT.370 05-20-2010 01:27 AM

Yeah I agree totaly the 370z is a stunning looking car.

The issues truly are minor. I have installed a cold air intake and the Hi Tech CBE system. The performance gains where an extra 23.7 horsepower at the wheels.

The car for a naturaly aspirated 6, delivers the performance of an HSV.

Agree...and tested against my mates 2010 HSV GTS. I was only slighly behind but not much at all. With mods and decent traction I reckon the Z would take it. :P
