Ipod cable too short

The Ipod cable supplied for the Nav/Bose radio in the 370z is way too short. Is it possible to purchase a longer one?? Or can it be cut and spliced into a longer cable without much difficulty?? The supplied cable is a digital connection to the Ipod so please don't recommend commercially available analog connectors.

The Nissan cable provided has a proprietary connector at one end to connect into the Nav/Bose (in the center console near the driver's elbow) and an Ipod flat connector on the other end (like the kind found on the opposite end of the USB connector for the nano).

If it is what I think it is just get a usb cord extender from best buy or radio shack.

May I ask why you need a longer one? I personally think it's a LOT longer than necessary since the iPod interface is displayed in the NAV screen so you never really have to really touch your iPod ever.

No it's not a usb connector. It's the connector that plugs into an Ipod nano's base. It's rectangular, about an inch wide and about an 1/8 inch thick. The other end is a weird Nissan proprietary connector. If it was USB it would be no problem.

Never mind I found what I need:

CableJive: Dock Extender Cable for iPod and iPhone

I need a longer cable so I can get my Ipod onto my dash mount and out of my drink cup.

Where and how do you plan to mount your iPod?
