Need Help With Kenwood Head Unit

Hey guys, I got a silly question. How do you reset the DDX7701hd? I need to update the firmware for my head unit and it keeps telling me to reset the unit after the patch is applied. I power down the unit by holding down the power button then I power it up again. However, the head unit isn't retaining the patch with this method.

The manual states that the reset button for my head unit is a button with a little red triangle power indicator on the lower left. When I try to press it, nothing happens. The reset button feels solid like its part of the head unit's frame. I have no prior Kenwood experience so I can't determine whether or not mine is defective. Thanks for the help.

most resets you need to push with something very small, such as a toothpick or point of a pencil. this is so you cant accidentally reset the unit.
get a good close look at it. the button itself is most likely in the center of the the triangle, not the triangle itself.

Well, looks like you need a paper clip to press in the tiny little triangle in the middle of the button. Hope someone benefit from this before they attempt to pry the button open with a screw driver lol.

Lol beat me to it by a minute. It's actually the illuminated tiny triangle in the middle of the button itself, that's why I was a little confused. It's been a decade since I had a real head unit, was a bit lost. Played it for the first time and I had forgotten how good aftermarket stereo sound compared to stock. Was so beautiful, she'd a few manly tears,:icon17:
