Does anyone have any though on this Back Up Camera?

for starters, the 342 people that reviewed it on your amazon link.
with that number of reviews, they gotta give you a good idea if its worth the price.
4 or 5 reviews...not so much. a lot of knuckleheads out there...342 however.

Minsu 07-24-2014 10:59 PM

I was Wondering if anyone tried it lol

RonRizz 07-27-2014 04:46 PM

Ummm yeah, the 342 people that reviewed it on amazon.........I would assume since they reviewed it they have first hand experience with the product.

This is what I got for mine: Car Reverse Rear View Backup Camera for Nissan 370Z 2008 2011 Mode Z34 | eBay

Installed it on the Drivers side Tag light, and it was pretty dead center in the rear of the car. Picture quality was very good in the day time, and grainy as expected at night, but still very clear. It had line markings that I measured at 1ft and 2 ft.

Simple enough install, positive, ground, and HU RCA connector. Tapped the power wire into my reverse bulb wire so it came on with the reverse lights on the HU. Great little unit for the price.

Thanks for the review Chris. I was looking at those on eBay and always wondered if the plate lights would distort the image at night.

DEpointfive0 07-28-2014 12:01 AM

I have it. Haven't used it yet, lol

Amazon.com : Pyle PLCM18BC License Plate Mount Rearview Backup Color Camera with Distance Scale Line (Zinc Black Chrome) : Vehicle Backup Cameras : Electronics

This is what I have on my car, if you make it to the next NJ meet you can see for yourself how it works. I'm sure the one you posted works fine as well.

They do not. And I even had super bright LEDs in. If anything, they helped with visibility.

I have Reverse Backup Keyhole Car Camera w CCD Infrared | eBay it's a CCD camera so it's more expensive compared to CMOS.

Installed like
http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...amera-dvd.html

That little piece pops right out with panel tool. Watched installer pop it right out. I'm happy with my setup though it is a bit more expensive since I went with a CCD camera.

I have a 09 so I had to get naviks on top of that too.

Minsu, did you end up getting this camera? I'm contemplating getting one of these so if you did I'm curious as to how you ended up running the wiring.

Nillaz 09-14-2014 06:41 PM

Just thought I'd follow up. I did end up ordering this camera and installed it today. Install was relatively easy and it technically works but the camera does not pick up the color green at all (anything green like trees, grass, etc, appears as red). I'm thinking that the camera sensor itself is faulty as the green guide lines appear without issue.

I have sent an email to the Amazon seller. We'll see what's what when i get a reply.

I have it too, very easy to install. Mine picks up green, weird.

Brancky I don't mean to impose on you but if you have a moment could you take a picture of what the camera image looks like from your display during the daytime?

I saw on the Amazon reviews for the unit that someone else has this issue, and the response from the company is that the red tinge is due to the IR LED's being on all the time and is perfectly normal. I don't want them to send me another one of these things if the end result is going to be the same.

I would love to, but I'm about to board a flight to Mexico until Thursday. I'll get one then for you... The image isn't as clear as a regular camera and certainly not as good as the one in our Nismo Juke, but I wouldn't call mine red by any means.

No worries it's not a big deal. Have a good trip!

Do it. Very easy to install and it does a good job.

I agree it's worth it. Honestly, even with the fact that anything green looks like it's from the land of Oz it has fairly reasonable picture quality for a $40 camera. The night vision is a little grainy but it gets the job done and then some. Also, the license plate frame itself is built like a tank which is a nice touch.

Despite the color problem with the sensor on my unit SunValleyTek (the Amazon vendor who sells this) has been accommodating. They had me send a picture of the display image, concurred that the sensor is faulty, and gave me a prepaid shipping label in order to send it back for exchange. The only thing TBD is whether or not they are going to make me rip out all the wiring in order to send it back as a complete unit or if they will allow me to send just the frame itself.

Minsu 09-16-2014 07:43 PM

I'm pretty sure everything needs to go, that's the usual with Amazon

Actually I got a reply from the vendor earlier this evening. After taking my concerns about the wiring installation into account they have decided to just ship me out a new package. I can swap out the units, put the defective one in that package and ship it back with the return label they already gave me.

They are handling the situation beautifully and to my complete satisfaction. I could not ask for a more satisfactory resolution or better customer service.

That is reassuring, I guess that explains why this camera has 300+ Amazon reviews and ~4.7 stars. Glad I spent the extra money compared to another camera.

Guys I'm taking it to the next level. Use a naviks along with an android tv box and you can stream movies and more on your car. Connect box to your cell as a hotspot

I went with this one as well. Amazon has them listed for like $15 shipped via Prime. Good day light image and grainy at night. Still gives a clear enough image for backing up at night. Cant beat the price and OEM look.
