Help l with bose+nav amp and sub install
 

I couldnt find a thread where this info was readily available so here it goes. Ive never installed an amp or sub in a vehicle before though im pretty proficient in wiring. I want to install a 12" sub in my car. 09 touring/sport w/nav. If you could tell me the best way to wire for the switched power and how to properly tap into signal like speaker wires color and location so I can get the sub to work it'd be great. Thanks in advance.

The FSM has wiring diagrams, wire colors, pinouts, &c.

If you get an amp with hi level inputs you won't need the remote wire. I tapped into the sky blue and violet wires that run to the sub box in the spare tire. I wired them straight to an Alpine MRV-M500 and it senses when to turn to on. Check the sticky section above for a video on how\where to run the power wire.

That depends on the amp, I had a Kenwood with high level inputs that still required the remote turn on.

This is true. Check the amps specs before assuming the high level is auto sensing. Also if you already have an amp that doesn't have high level inputs, you can use a line output converter (LOC). The LC2i seems to be a favorite. It will take speaker level connections and give you the low level RCA outputs needed.

Are you trying to add an aftermarket amp and sub in addition to your BOSE subwoofer? I want to do the same thing, so I'm trying to see if it's possible.

It shouldn't be too hard, you can use the speaker wires of the bose sub as high-level inputs for your amplifier - just have to run power and connect the ground assuming you find an amp that uses high-level input as a remote turn on. You can use something like THIS to tap into the existing speaker wires so you don't have to cut them.
