Bluetooth media streaming issue Resolved!!!!!

for the last year plus I was unable to use my Samsung phones with the bluetooth media player in my 2011 370. I anted to check to see if it was my phone so I tried a S5 and it still failed. So I tried my S4 with one of my Nissan Envy trucks and it worked fine. Went to the dealer for a oil change and demanded the service manager tell me why it wont work. He was not really well informed and had no clue. I said please go check and see if theres any updates or info about this problem. He came back with an update disc for the Nav and other stuff and ran it, Bam!! it worked:happydance:. So if you have been stuck without Bluetooth media function check with your dealer for a recent nav disc update

I just setup my iPhone 4S in my '14 w/ Nav. First added the hands-free bluetooth, had no audio, proceeded to add the phone as an audio unit in the bluetooth menu, now it streams pandora and everything, and the hands free works. Good stuff. The update must have been released a while ago and the new ones already have it.

does the factory nav unit have a pandora icon for its app? run pandora wirelessly without hooking up your phone to anything? if so, that's pretty close to aftermarket.

No, its just part of the streaming audio. No cables, nothing, just open pandora on the phone and it plays through the car. When you turn the car off, pandora pauses on the phone as to not waste data, then resumes next time you get in. The new Nissan Connect units have the apps though.

What is the new firmware number? Can you post it?

I'd much rather have CarPlay so I can use my iPhone apps.

You have to go to settings>bluetooth>audio>connect device, it's not in the phone menu

Ever since upgrading to the iPhone X the audio bluetooth connection in my 2010 Z has been very broken. I have to keep toggling the bluetooth on my phone to let the car re-connect to get it to play without audio breaks. Is this a similar issue that the original poster posted about? Do you think a Nav update would fix this or is it more of a iPhone X issue?

Also, you go the Nissan dealership to upgrade you Nav system for free? I thought that cost like $150 for a new Nav CD? Also, what is the other stuff you mentioned they did to your Z? Seems to me that there should be a free firmware upgrade for these car systems. I'm sure bluetooth has changed over the last 8 years.
