Navigation/Rear Camera Quesiton

Hoping I don't get flamed for an existing thread. I searched but couldn't come up with an answer to my question.

I am in the market for a Z right now and leaning towards a Touring with Sport Package. I will more than likely buy a slightly used one unless I can get a great deal on a new one.

My question is do the 2010's and up that have the navigation built in automatically come with a back up camera? If not, can you integrate an aftermarket camera into the factory navigation system?

I have considered putting in an aftermarket system to a Z without the factory nav package as I worked at an aftermarket A/V auto shop for about ten years. I just really like how clean the factory navigation package looks and am not a huge fan of the compartment sans the navigation. I really don't feel like fabricating something in the compartment either.

Thanks in advance for any information on the topic (including links to previous threads I may have missed)

You can add a navtool if I remember that to be the correct name and allow you to add a reverse camera of your choice.

Thanks for the info. I went to the site but they didn't have anything available for a 2010 and up. I know peripheral makes similar units. Just wondering if anyone has had better luck with one brand versus another.

Since my Z is a base sport, it has no camera. I went ahead and bought the Wicked CAS Stage one Package with a stealth box and a new Head unit. And obviosuly a rear view camera. If you plan to mod your car.. i think this is the best route.

I have a 2010 and I purchased a rear view camera. I followed a thread which shows how to activate the rear camera option which I did. I just haven't installed the camera yet so when I am in reverse I get a blue screen. I plan to use sound deaden in the hatch so I am going to wait until then to wire things up. I hope this helps.

I order the one for a GTR then pick 2010 and it will show compatible with 2009-2010 370z.

Here's what I used. Rear Camera Kit - Car Kit Company. It works awesome. I got just the harness and used a different camera.

I ended up getting Naviks gif works great ! Now I want to add a front camera. Anyone know of a speed sensing device I can connect with camera so it comes on automatically under certain speed?

Navster, did you have the small gray plug (in addition to the main white plug) on the back of your display?

Yes

Why you ask Mr_Wond3ful?

Navster,
I ordered the Naviks adapter (for about $179) and upon purchase received an email from Naviks stating that a different adapter would be required if I had the gray plug. I have the gray plug, and was informed that the adapter for my unit would be $360.
Which version of the adapter worked for you? Got a link?

Mr_Wond3rful
I did the same thing I had to return the $170 one and for the 370z its Naviks Griffith
Ended up paying more for the unit but now I want to add a front cam but one that comes on at slow speed so I'm looking for a speed sensor switch of some type and after that I honk I will ad kivic one to mirror the iPhone.
Look at this on eBay:
