Looking for door pods

Has anyone made fiberglass door speaker pods for the base 370z? I bought some 6x9 speakers for my doors, and want to have pods since the space is very shallow, I'm not looking for comments of, "oh you should have bought 6.5" or these or those" I want the 6x9s and am curious if anyone makes a pod for it.

I've fit JBL and Kicker 6x9s in the doors without pods. How deep do you need to go?

I've got 2) New Kicker 41DSC6934 D-Series 6x9" 360 Watt 3-Way Car Audio Coaxial Speakers off eBay, I'll be getting the door panel off tomorrow hopefully if I have time, did you need to get spacers for your door 6x9s? I don't think my car has the Bose system since its just a base sport

The bose system has 6x9's in the doors.. You should be able to fit them in there.
If I remember correct, (3 years since I put my 6.5's in) the same speaker housing is in the base model, you would just need to cut out the speaker bracket to accommodate.

I used some small spacers and everything fit ok.

I shun the [sic] audioflies and use 6x9s often.

Bose 6 x 9 use neodymium magnets so they are lower profile over all than the aftermarket speakers, which all use giant Ferrite magnets due to profit incentive on their part. BAF always builds a spacer to put aftermarket drivers in place of the Bose drivers. He's the expert on mounting drivers in our cars.

I'm no "expert", but the kicker 6x9's show a mounting depth of 3 3/16". My hertz 6.5" have a depth of 3 5/16", and there were no spacers required. Fit right in with no issues.
Perhaps the fact that the magnet will be located higher up the door in a 6x9 changes this..?

I am no expert at all, more likely in the noob area when it comes to audio install, thanks you guys have all given me great ideas to try, I will be attempting to install them this next week, probably Wednesday and I will take pictures of every step, and add any tips to help aside from door panel removal, just in case anyone else like me needs help through this.

you should look in the stickies threads for Sliknik's "install videos"
lots of helpful info in those. I briefly looked at them this morning, and noticed that the bracket in the base for the door speaker will only accommodate the 6.5", you will need the bose bracket for a 6x9, unless you are crafty enough to make your own. Should not be that difficult, though.

He only mounts the good looking drivers, and occasionally a passenger if she is purdy.
