Hey bud I will be back Tuesday morning. Let me know if you would like a fresh set of eyes.

Does your deck have a sub out?
If so use that.

That system you have in there should sound perfect.

Nazar, thanks for responding. I am hopeful that this system sounds better than what I'm getting out of it right now and hope to get this figured out. I'm using both RCA outputs on the deck as shown in here (except going to 1 amp instead of 2) front set is going to Ch1&Ch2 on the amp input, sub is going to sub on the amp:

Also it seems that the deck can be changed to select subwoofer output but all this appears to do is enable the lpf on the deck itself and changes the fader options since there are no rear speakers.

I will try again turning on the subwoofer output and setting the lpf to 80hz to match the amp LPF. Or just turn off the lpf on the amp and let the deck do it. I would think that leaving the deck output set to full would be the way to go since the amp is handling the lpf in my current configuration.

You can use the Sub crossover in the deck or the one in the map. Does not matter. To start with use the one in deck and make sure it is able to let you turn the sub level up and down. Some decks are designed to have the crossover on to give you a selection for sub level.

Amplifier certainly has a better crossover built in. But try it and let us know.

I am assuming everything is in phase.

OK finally had some time to **** around with this again. Switched both outputs to sub and for some odd reason it sounds better. I can here the sub working even at very low volume which I never have before. I know I had it in this configuration before and can't figure out why all of a sudden it is "working" better. I also turned the lpf on the amp off and used the filter on the deck and sounds the same. I will use the lpf on the deck instead since I can change the settings there easier.

Big, when our schedules allow, I may take a ride up just to have a set of eyes and ears on it. I'd say the system sounds punchy and clear. The sub does not overpower the bass from the mids; not sure if this is ideal or not??? I was expecting that sub to be really separating itself from the 6.5s in the door.

While I was at it, I secured the magic box to the corner using some corner braces. Plasti dipped the brackets since I couldn't find black ones at the store and screwed through the carpet and into the edge of the vinyl moulding. Took a rip around town taking some quick turns and hard acceleration to see if it will jar loose and she's holding just fine. It's another option for securing the sub for anyone else looking for ideas.

Thanks Nazar! The box fabrication is excellent and the fit/finish are perfect. Whatever issues I was having had nothing to do with you magic box.

If the Sub does not overpower the mids, you got it right!

Good deal. Glad you got it figgered out. Pretty solid of Nazar to help out as well, and not disappearing after making a sale. Nice.
