Tired of my Kickers - need new subs
I've grown tired of my 2 12" Kicker comps and I'm thinking of switching them out. They aren't bad, but they are more punch than sound quality. I'm thinking of replacing with JL W3s maybe. I've done Polk DXis, and variety of Fosgates, but want something new to broaden my experience. I'd like something that gives me a little more detail in the low freqs and not just thump. Because I have two, I can sacrifice a little boom to get sq. Powering off 900 rms for the two.
Any suggestions on alternatives welcomed. |
Image Dynamics Q's are an amazing SQ sub for the buck. JL is good as well but was never found of the price point.

A winner in my book is the Stereo Integrity BM Mark 4. The previous Gen. Mark 3 had Incredible SQ, and Packed plenty of punch. The 4 is said to be even better.
I have ordered one to shelf in the garage for when my soundstream decides to crap out. Give them a serious look, They are worth your time. |
Update: I'm going to delay purchase. I made a trade and want to see how it goes. I traded my Kicker 07CRV12-2s and an amp for two Polk MM1240s. I might still end up buying something recommended here, but I'll see how these Polks do (they are a step up from the DXis I have laying around the house and have run in other vehicles).

I have a 10" Type R shallow in a custom corner box. It hits really nice and clean. IMO it sounds as nice as my brother's JL W7 10" but louder. The W7 is really nice too. JL just cost a good $$ for what you get though.
