Rear camera view got tweaked?

I admint I only use the rear camera when backing up pretty much, so it's not like I can tell you all that I see on the nav screen as a result. But yesterday I thought I noticed that the camera got tweaked.

The view on the nav screen includes the license place from above, and the lower left corner of the image is snipped off. I went back to thwe camera to see what I could see, and found that the lower left part of the image snipped off is because the camera is recessed and the bumper blocks that area a little bit. Seeing the license plate from above is interesting - that is on very closer camera. I tried to wiggle the camera and it was definite not going anywhere sp that was not the issue.

Is the camera I tried to wiggle the entire camera or just the housing?
Is what I am seeing the correct view? Is there a way to calibrate it?

You have an image you can post?

I'll get one tomorrow when it's daylight again.

Why does this crack me up? Oh, it is because the rear camera only works when in reverse, thus one can only use it when backing up.

Not if you have a bypass :)

@OP, I don't have nav but rather the homelink mirror w/ view in the mirror. When the dealer installed mine it was the same view (bumper and license plate) which I hated. I had them adjust the camera angle - so the result on mine has the warning lines trailing up a bit rather than paralell to the road but the view is now much clearer.

Lots of big truck guys use backup cameras as backup cameras and as "is my hitch still fastened-really"? Cameras, haha. Good idea actually.

I use my backup camera any time I want to see what is behind me, I have the bypass. As promised, here is the view I have.

OP I have the exact same view, but I swore my changed. i wish I had a before and after pic but the bodyshop/dealership thinks I'm crazy. I got rear ended a few months back, after having the bumper replaced i realized the back up view was just not the same. took it to the body shop they swear it is mounted correctly, took it to the dealer they say the same. Unfortunately they didn't have another z to compare the view. i would go to your dealership and see if they have one you can compare. That is not the view I originally had, but I gave up trying to figure it out.

Far too recessed I think. Could it be pulled and re installed further out a little bit. I know these things are placed off center making it look weird. I have a G37 where it is installed @ dead center and looks way better at the monitor.

Edit: I stand corrected. Now that I actually paid attention to it, mine appears exactly the same as yours.
