NIGHT and freakin DAY as BigAudioFant already posted. Enclosure and location are a HUGE factor.

Sub Location

I am comtemplating adding a sub between the space tire well and the area in front of the strut bar (see pic). The dimensions are approx. 8" wide, 20" long, 7" deep. Any thoughts on the angle of the sub would be appreciated.

You could put like (3) 6" subs in there. That would rock! Then mount the amp behind the seat.

Not getting the right box for your sub is kind of like putting a 4 stroke in a Z. It's pointless to buy nice materials and not use them to what they were designed for.

And I must disagree about SQ stopping at 12"! It all depends upon the sub. I bet my 15" has as much if not more potential for SQ, linear travel, and motor force as most 12's.

Try this for linear!!

If that is where it looks like that is where the Z Enclosures box goes. I ordered one 3 days ago, shipped out yesterday. I'll let you know what I think about it when it arrives. So far service from them has been quick and they even answered my emails in about an hour after I made my order.

Without further argument on that subject, I have said this before and I will say it again. Sound quality is very subjective.

Here is a perfect example, some people swear by 10" subs, personally I have never been happy with a 10" sub and always find myself upgrading to a 12 and recently I have been playing with 13's and I think they are the shiznick!

This is off topic big time, but I will say it anyway to reinforce my point.

I have a home theater sub with an 18" driver in it and it hits tighter than any 8, 10, or 12 I have ever heard. In fact its the Home Theater sub that all others are measured by, at least at the time I bought it. Granted it has a 3000watt amp and cost a few grand, but its an example that very large sub drivers can have the SQ that rivals smaller ones.

Be careful when you generalize as there are always exceptions to the rule.

I’m curious about your home theater sub. I’m currently using two SVS PC Ultra Plus subwoofers and looking to upgrade. Any suggestions?

What about a Bazooka Tube tied to the rear facing bottom of the aluminum cross bar? Just an idea.

I picked mine up from his shop down in Bradenton Fl. today. Went with the single12" design and dude it fit's like a glove. You will impressed with how well built these are.

You have (2) of those and you want to upgrade??? Those are awesome subs, just one of them will keep up with my Velodyne FSR1800II if not exceed it.
