Boss bass 1200 install today

I am getting a boss bass 1200 10inch low profile powered sub installed today. I'll let you guys know how it sounds and hopefully post some pictures. I'm sure some of you out there are looking for low cost subwoofer applications for the z without building huge boxes or losing space

I will take pictures later but for 150 dollars the boss bass is awesme. Really tight punchy bass with a low profile. I would def reccomend it to those who want aftermarket bass for a small price.

Does it still fit in the spare? Or, with the spare?

EDIT: Dyslexic - I read "Bose Bass" - like it was a Bose add-on that was a 10" sub to replace the OEM 4" pair...

Installed under passenger seat or driver seat? (or elsewhere?)

ddvette9 08-28-2009 05:18 PM

Not sure if it will fit under a seat. I just hve mine laying in the back firing Into the glass hatch

Boss? as in the ones that you can get at the flea market? I am sorry but if that is the ones you are talking about I would never put them in any car. Also I think they over charged you for that sub.

1. Boss has been around since 1988
2. I paid 150 including air 2 day air shipping fir a 10 inch sub that's amplified and goes down into the 20hz range. I think that's an awesome price
3. I used to own a jl w7. I know what the best sub in the world sounds like. For 150 dollars you can't beat a powered sub

I'm not a name brand snob, however, I would have to hear it to believe a Boss anything is capable of delivering 'clean' lows. I could install a number of Subs to rattle my ears but any audio aficionado will tell you that 'thump' is a different animal than 'clean bass'.

bigaudiofanat 08-28-2009 08:26 PM

I agree cdawg, they use to be a good brand way back when. But now they are like pyle or walmart brands. Sorry man just what I know, not trying to rain on your parade.

20Hz?? from a prefab 10" sub. No way!!!! The Infinity Basslink is arguabley the best of the prefab/powered subs available and they are "ok" but no where near great by any means. I would rather have the stock Bose sub.

But hey, sound quality is subjective. One man's garbage is another man's treasure.

bigaudiofanat 08-29-2009 05:08 PM

Ya 20hrz is difficult enough with a ported box let alone a prefab sealed box. I am not trying to flame the OP but boss is no good. I agree with you on your comments as well 2fast4thelaw.
