:hello: I just bought this camera and navtool. It seems like everything connects easy, however, there are 5 wires still left. Do these have to be connected?

bigaudiofanat 10-07-2013 07:18 PM

The 5 wires your mentioned I am going to assume at least two of them are for power probably switched 12 volt and Ground. can you get a close up of the wires that are left over?

Also where in NJ are you located?

Ya I am pretty sure 2 of them are for power. What do the labels say on them?

What-a-Rush 10-07-2013 10:27 PM

Orange wire: reverse +12v input
Red wire: accessory +12v input
Black: ground
yellow: push button input
grey: parking brake

these wires are wrapped with a tag that say NI24.
The reason I ask is because the instructions say, "NI24pin: connect&play harness behind navigation screen only"

seems 2 me you answered your own question.

As Ron said all these wire have to be wired to the proper locations and which not all of them are directly behind the nav.

Hi Rush,

What I did with my install was to take a cable that had several small wires (discrete and insulated from one another) (to match one for one the loose wires), connect, shrinkwrap and secure the loose wires into the multiwire cable at the rear of the Navi screen, and then run that multi-wire cable down the radio/AC/Navi box to the other side of the shift knob. Then, I connected those wires to the correct locations in the automobile.

Keep in mind there are several explicit detailed how to's that I found in the forum by using search. I studied the install of several other DIY's using the same kit and by the time the adapter arrived, I wired it without the instructions, I had read the DIY's so many times, haha.

It's not that difficult if you study and prepare ahead of time.
