Stock headunit bluetooth common?

I did very little research but to my understanding, you can get the stock HU with Bluetooth in the upgraded package. Is this upgrade common? I would like to find me a cheap stock HU with Bluetooth to replace my stock w/o Bluetooth if I can find one for a steal. Why you may ask? I want the stock look along with the capability to control the radio with my steering wheel.

Have you thought about adding a Parrot to your stock HU

I'm unfamiliar with a "Parrot" other than the birdie pirate ones. You have a good link to some info on them? The thing is, if it cost $150, I might as well just buy a cheap deck and be done with it.

He's talking about this

Parrot Mki9000

You can use bluetooth to aux adapter, but you won't have wheel control over the phone.

do it right the first time and just spend a few hundred to get a HU with BT to replace your base HU.

pioneer has a cheep 2500BT for $219 shipping on amazon prime.

pac for steering controls is like $30-35, wiring harness maybe $10 for both antenna and main harness. check ebay for these.

I just bought me a BT to aux adapter. Should be here in a few days.

This will hold me over until I can get me a solid 2DIN HU w/BT.

Yep, that's all I want right now.

I'm saving up for the Alpine ICS-X7HD for now. Though, I'm going to finance my vacation before getting a HU for now.

Nooo. I didn't buy the Parrot thing. I was responding to the BT/aux adapter part.

Sorry.

I spent $40 on the adapter, waiting for it to arrive.

Haboob 09-25-2013 04:11 PM

The reviews don't seem bad at all. There are just a few is all.

One guy doesn't like it, because it doesn't connect to his old equipment - I don't have that problem. No old equipment to connect.

Another saying it's clunky and BT doesn't work, whilst two say it's working fine.

This was a few months back... gonna have to start over. :icon17:

:icon17: im not sure, but to me seems like alpine's been kinda slipping lately. they havent had much innovation as they did 10+yrs ago.
