2013 recommendation Door Speakers

So my Boston Acoustics SR60 speakers are blown "due to body shop damaging them" but figured I would check and see what other people are recommending for their speaker setup. I have an amp connected to the speakers so the setup was something I was happy with.

Let me know what you guys are running that are similar to the Boston Acoustics Sr60 or close to them. I want to either get the same level of satisfaction or BETTER lol but also I don't want to spend too much money on the component set. I believe I bought my SR60s "great deal btw" for 200. So wouldn't want to go over $300.

Let me get your input guys and gals :)

I have the Hertz HSK165's hooked into the Hertz HDP5 amp. Absolutely love them. If you get a chance to hear them I would. I went to a nice electronics store nearby which carried Hertz, Focals, Audison's, Pioneers, Boston Acoustics, etc and listened to them all. They had a wide variety of speakers so it was a great way of comparing them all. My favorite for the price and quality were the Hertz's so that's what I got

Did you review them on amazon?? The one review for that model says they put them in a 370 haha

Image Dynamics XS65 Components.. They cost a little more than $300, but you can look around to get close to that price. That's what I've been using :)

X2 on both recommendations, the hertz are loved by all z customers I install them in, same goes for ID XS and the CXS models. However make sure you amp them as they love plenty of power.

While they are in your price range I would pass on the Infinity Kappa Perfects. I've got the 6.5 component sets hooked up to Boston Acoustic GT125 amp . First year I had them I liked them (amp was set at 1/3rd gain) but they simply can't handle bigger power (amp set at 1/2-3/4 gain) necessary to hear them over a louder exhaust and smaller tires (road noise).

The door woofers are ok, but don't handle as much bass as I would prefer, even moderate midrange is pushing it and causes distortion. Tweeters are too bright. I've been able to dial it in the way I like it, but certain songs are still too bright and pretty much all my bass and most of my midrange is coming from my subs. I had planned on switching them out for the SR60 Pro line before BA stopped making them.

BTW - Sonicelectronix is running a sale now through July 4th (just got the email). You might be able to find a great deal on Focal, JL and some other brands there. I bought my set up from there 4 years ago and have had no issues with service or delivery.

Thanks for the inputs guys, the boston acoustics werent bad at all but when I buy new/replacement items, I never stay with the same make/models lol So I will review the recommendations you guys mentioned. Any other options were will be great to take into consideration :)

The Polk DB series is a solid midrange speaker with a decent price.
