Mounting display on cubby door?

Does anyone know if mounting a display on the cubby door is possible? Mold it in, run the wires and tuck them away so the cubby is still usable? It's not for stereo or movie use, I want it for digital displays. I'm just wondering the feasibility of it. I'm having trouble finding just a universal 7" touchscreen display. Does anyone know where I might find one that doesn't have some plastic BS or connected to a damn radio?

Anything is po$$ible.

A display could be moulded/integrated with the cubby door. The plastic around the display isn't an issue if you're custom fabricating something, it might even be beneficial. I've used both types of displays with and without plastic casings. You just need to find the biggest screen to fit the desired area.

Do you think the wired mess can be tamed? idk where these inputs come in. I know you've done fab work with your interior, what would be your guesstimate? I'm thinking a 7" and keeping the aesthetics with the fake leather and stitching.

If I was doing it, the wiring would run with the hinges in some nice wire loom. Not the cheap plastic stuff. This stuff,

That way, if you do see some wiring, it look half decent.

I would most likely rebuild the rear of the door as well so it looks pretty/clean when open.

You could reuse the existing leather when finishing the front side (the side you see).

It's been a long time since I sourced out a monitor so I couldn't really help as far as selection goes. I haven't bothered to measure things out either. You or your fabricator can do that.

Labour anywhere from 1-3 days depending on fabricator experience and how it's finished. For example, making a new back side and finishing it like factory, different options for the front side such as fibreglass painted an accent colour or to match the vehicle colour, leather, carbon fibre, etc.

Thanks man, + rep when I get back to my room (rep or Likes don't work on DOD networks)
