usb music import to hdd

I know we can burn Cd's to the HDD of our Z, can we import music from our USB slot. When I plug in my USB it plays songs but I don't get an option to record. Anyone tried this before.

From what I understand you can only do it from CD's.

Well that is crazy dumb, My jeep can import music from the USB stick. I will never understand Nissan and its choices.
