My Sub Box

1 Attachment(s)
After looking at lots of peoples sub box builds. I came up with my own design.
I started off with the JL Audio 10TW3-D4 Sub. I wanted a Small Box. So this is what I came up with.

My On-line Build Gallery:
Sub Box

Enjoy.

Doesn't that block your rear view?

not at all. I cannot even see it in the rear view mirror.

Looks potentially disastrous in a car crash but very clever in its design for sound.

This, but it does look good.

Looks nice, is there more volume than is showing? What's it tuned to?

Yes, there is more volume than is showing. See My On-line Build Gallery: Sub Box
You don't Tune a Sealed box. The 10TW3 is for Sealed enclosures only.

I did and it looks well made and very cool design. I'm just saying that personally, I'm a little leary of anything that could potentially fling around the cabin in a crash, especially with that much mass. It's not an insult.

Got you.. My idea is better then the other ones I see that are just setting there or have a couple of screws holding it. I bolted mine down to the body of the car.

this looks great.

I'd love to hear how it sounds because I've got a sub on my rack and would love to install somehow.

Great idea! I like the looks of that.

Hey Cdoxp800, any cabinet with a driver has a tuning, not only ported ones. Resonant tuning frequency varies with cabinet volume, all other things being equal ie., same speaker varying cabinet size. The Thiele-Small parameters determine the optimum cabinet volume and cutoff. I was just curious what's the -3 and -10 dB cutoff at the bottom end.

looks outa place, but big plus for originality.
