Direct Fit Replacement In Dash Tweeters

Has anyone found a tweeter that might be a direct fit for the dashtop. There are a few on-line places like PartsExpress and Madisound that sell separate drivers and crossover capacitors. Any luck with that?
Thanks.

I would just buy the plastic adapter to go in place and run any tweeter that comes with a component set, otherwise your going to have to worry about going with an active setup with a customer bare bones tweeter. It's very easy to do.

PVC Speaker Adapters - CNC Machined - In Stock or Custom Made

I made mine out of ABS Plastic. Took all of 5 mins to do.

You cannot see the white box through the grill and window.

Gentlemen thanks for the excellent advice. I'm planning on keeping my car long term so I'm going to pick up a pair of the recommended adapters. I found a few tweeters that have the crossover capacitor in place so that will eliminate any further research. Hopefully there enough space width and depth to not have to deal with size restrictions.
Best wishes.

Hey bud, I literally just installed Image Dynamics XS65 components this weekend and they're tweeters are a direct fit. No need for an adapter or anything. Just use the grill and flush mount cone that comes with them. I'm pretty sure you can buy them separate from the component system on their website. They sound F-ing amazing!!! :happydance: I can send you pictures if you'd like :tiphat:

I would recommend again to just upgrade the full set of component speakers and save yourself from going back in later and upgrading. I also forgot that hertz speakers come with a bracket that is direct line up with the holes. Also you can cut out the old tweeter from its basket and use it to hold your new tweeter.

If you laid down a layer of fiberglass resin than they would be stiff as a board. :rofl2:

Where did you find the black ABS plastic?

My tweeters wouldn't fit in the dash tweeter area. The Focal tweets are too thick and can't fit between the windshield and dash. Unless the tweeters are insanly thick like mine, a simple board of anything can be used to mount the speaker too.
