Axxess

Anyone had any luck getting the AXXESS to work with a 2013 Base. I have read the "STICKY" and followed the instructions to the tee. Install one in my Titan a while back with no issues. Frustrated....

grey & blue - blue

grey & red - pink

Separate ground for pin 15

Did you do a manual program? Also make sure your connections are solid, t taps would not be a strong connection as splicing into them.

I think you are on to something.... I used t taps. I contacted Axxess they told me for the 2013, the wire set up should be:

red / grey - blue

blue / grey - pink

I will try it both ways and solder the connections. Thanks!!!

Wiring is the same... took away the t-taps and manually programmed. Works like a charm. Thanks Bigaudiofanat.

Added to your rep, been using those things for years. Threw them all away. Not worth the headache.

Help

Looking for some help because I have almost the same setup as P-Kidd
Here is what I have:

2013 370Z Base (No Bose)

Pioneer AVH-x2500bt
Metra 70-7552 Wiring Harness
Metra Axxess Steering Wheel Control
Metra 40-NI12 Antenna Adapter
Parking Brake Bypass

Started doing the wiring of the Pioneer Harness to the Metra Harness.

Where I am confused is on the instructions for the Metra Axxess Steering Wheel Control. The Metra website does not have instructions for the 2013, so I printed out the 2012.

What seems strange to me is the following:

Gray/Red wire to Pin 16
Gray/Blue wire to Pin 6
Pin 15 of vehicle harness to ground

I have not pulled the stereo out yet, so I am not sure of the wire colors on the vehicle harness.

But looking at the Pins on the Metra 70-7552 Wiring Harness:

Pin 16 = Left Front Speaker -
Pin 6 = Right Rear Speaker +
Pin 15 = Left Rear Speaker +

Am I totally missing something here. :icon14:
Just doesn't seem right.

So, do you directly splice into the wires on the vehicle side of the harness? Did you have grey/red - red & grey/blue -blue
What do you do for Pin 15?

Just the pin numbers and not the color codes you should be able to do it that way.

This is the way. I was all kind of confused installing it into my base, but the advice here was to just quit overthinking it and use the pin references on the car harness. Put everything back in, followed the basic Axxess instructions, and everything works great.

Thanks -- I'll just stop thinking are start splicing!!!!;)

I'm running into the same issue here today. It seems like the Metra adapter is mislabeled like crazy. As people above have found out, the pins referenced in the AXXESS instructions (grey/red, grey/blue) correspond with rear speakers on the Metra adapter.

So now it seems like I have to unfortunately splice into the vehicle side of the wiring which is what I thought I was avoiding by buying the Metra adapter in the first place.
