Base Stock System

So I don't understand why so many people complain about the base stereo. I honestly think it's quite good. If you've heard the base 350 stereo, you would know what a crapppy stereo is. The 370 has good low end, doesn't break til the volume gets pretty loud. Am i crazy or is the base stereo pretty decent? Please advise. Thanks.

The bose system is not bad but it is not good either, bose is simply just all hype. There amp and all is setup so when you start cranking that volume the amp filters out what will distort the speakers which is your music. So you could have a rely good sound with a lot of bass and sounds great but that is all. The system has not mids in its setup. If you were to hear even a cheap aftermarket setup you would simply not be saying what you are saying. "a system that has components an amp and a sub" Simply put bose is junk there speakers are made out of something close to paper just like the factory ones, and the speakers just have to much bass no mids and the tweeters are harsh.

Now if you are talking about the stock base one and not the bose, "though you spelled it wrong but guess not" that is even worse, tinty the mids are not there and no lows as well. That system would be improved so much just by a simple set of components, believe be the stock one not matter which one S*** the manufacture just dose not care much about the audio system in there cars. Not to mention the head unit looks like it belongs in a scion tc. Go to any audio shop and ask them to hear a SQ setup that will change your mind about the stock one.

Yes the base stereo is waaay better than the base stereo from the 350!! I think it could be better, and I dont like using the AUX in front it looks half assed so I will probably try and find something for full speed iPod connectivity.

I understand that that is why I typed up 2 paragraphs. And bose or base still can be better, any aftermarket system is better than factory.

Yeah, the thing's not the prettiest looking i have to admit...I think i'll be okay for a while. Esp when i don't feel good about putting some huge box in the hatch..

Big, First of all thanks alot for all your replies and time you take to answer our post. I have another question and I dont mean to change thread direction but here goes. If I came to you and said I have the cash to spend correct what is wrong with my system (mentioned above) but I dont want to get rid of the head unit. What ever it takes. What would be my best options? Problems?

I haven't followed audio in a while, but I don't know if they corrected this but, the biggest problem I ran across back in the day with Bose is that they had individual amps installed with each speaker, so when you removed the stock speakers, the radio doesn't have the power to drive the speakers you replace, also vice versa. Not sure how the new Z is, but thats what I always ran into with Bose. Also the conections from the new speakers to the stock radio becomes tricky with no power running the speakers. Your best off changing everyting in my experience. HU, and speakers.

Well if you are talking about an upgrade you can upgrade the speakers and all and still keep the head unit if you rely wanted it. I have done it before in a Porsche, Honda Accord, and a Subaru wrx sti. So it would be something like a JL sub maybe something a bit nicer, Image dynamics compotes tweeter and woofer, if you had the money audison amps or focal and something that would let you use your factory head unit. It is possible check the build thread below under honda accord it will not be that complex but it will take some time.VVVV As for the comment above today a lot of bose systems have one integrated amp and another one for the sub that is all there usually located under the seat or under the dash.
