Antenna location?

Hi to all,

Just moved over here from the 350Z forum after picking up my Nismo yesterday. I want to put my Kenwood Navi unit in this one but have no idea where to mount the GPS antenna.

Any support is thanked!

somewhere on the dash...... ?

Use the metal adhesive pad and mount it next to the tweeter location.

Or in the trunk under the trunk mat.

Just put it INSIDE the dash behind the head unit and check your reception. From personal experience the couple of times i have installed navis in my previous cars I got full reception even when I put the antenna inside of the dash just behind the head unit. Never had any issues the 4 or 5 times i have done it this way.

May not have a problem however accuracy might be hurt putting it there.

i use the magnetic pad and put it right behind the speedo meter vertically, out of the way and out of sight. Reception is great too.

That is exactly how I did mine, too. I have read a few different places as long as there isn't anything metal above it (magnetic) there won't be any problems. My accuracy is almost spot on.

Just stick it on the dashboard, it's barely noticeable.

Never had any issues with accuracy on mine. Maybe because there was possibly no metal parts above it, not sure. But it was spot on down to 3 mtrs.

Mine is tuked away as well under the dash above the center compartment. Always a good signal.

Mine is on the dash by the tweeter, it blends in and you hardly notice it.
