Sweet Jesus I might be in love.

MX52Z 01-16-2013 10:34 PM

Oh my gawd! I take it this probably won't be out 'til at least March?

ZScr3am 01-16-2013 11:04 PM

$1,700!!! I will just mount an Air Book in my dash!! Looks pretty sick though.

I just saw that this won't be released until April.

It's still pretty early on so not much extraneous info on this yet, but I'll certainly be keeping my eye out. If it's connected features lives up to it's marketing I'll be swapping out my DNX9990HD without hesitation.

RustyM2001 01-17-2013 12:34 AM

That's one bad *** unit! I'll never leave my Z with that in it.

MX52Z 01-17-2013 12:44 AM

I'm very impressed with its capabilities, just checking what AT&T would charge me for a tethering plan though. I'm not into Facebook or tweeting or twating or whatever the cool kids are doing nowadays, especially when I'm driving so I may not take advantage of any of that. I'd still love to check this out though.

I've seen it on other sites for $1400, so a pre-order now would work out to be a decent deal with the gift cert.

Haboob 01-17-2013 10:20 AM

So many features that I'd never use or need. :icon17:

Coon-azz 01-17-2013 11:34 AM

Cool if you don't plan to drive...LOL :)

I think this thing will even cook you dinner. I haven't made it through all of the features yet.

It is illegal to charge for tethering now. A federal judge has spoken on the matter. You pay for the data plan, not the device that can use it.

NismoZ70 06-01-2013 12:36 PM

This head unit is quite remarkable. Going from my old Eclipse head unit which I got back in 2007 for my other car to this one for my Z is crazy. You really do not want to get out of car. I am one who loves listening to internet radio, my iPod, receiving sports and news updates, weather, traffic information and when at a light quickly checking my Facebook and Gmail although what's nice is that some of these can be spoken to you to avoid being too distracted. There's so much I feel I have to still learn about the unit but luckily with the youtube videos it helps figuring out all of its capabilities. Haven't really gotten a chance to use the navigation too much yet since I have just been driving to work and back. Purchased mine through Amazon for $1,200 but eBay has them for even less. Definitely would recommend this unit if you have the chance.

Wicked CAS 06-02-2013 07:36 AM

Do you happen to offer financing in your sales? The reason I ask is because I'm very interested in your corner sub box.

I paid around $1,200 as I mentioned but I also received 24 months financing on the purchase so really I only have to pay around $50ish a month. I thought it was a great deal to get when it's same as cash.

Haha why? I think it was a great deal that I got and not having to put it on my credit card was great. I think I'll pay $50 more to get it financed same as cash

Buying from a forum sponsor for cheaper is better, and using your CC and paying the balance in full by the end of the month is a better.:tiphat:

I wouldn't be able to put it on my credit card and pay it off in full within the month hence the same as cash 24 month financing that I went with. I would end up paying more or close to what I paid if I did that because it would be stuck on my cc beyond a month. I am totally in agreement with buying from forum sponsors and I totally support that but not if its going to cost me more or like I said close to what I paid like it would in this case here :)

You need to get a better CC with lower interest rates,I don't know how high yours is mine is only 3.25%

Well other things I had to consider is what I had on my credit card besides this possible purchase that would have increased the amount of interest that I am being charged on a month basis. My rates aren't that high but unfortunately we had to put a lot of medical expenses on our credit cards last month for my wife. I bought this before she went through that but if I knew that was going to happen I wouldn't have purchased it all. Now I am very glad the route I went with putting through the Amazon card given that for this I will be paying $50 a month over the 24 months period and the payment I will be having to make on my wife's medical expenses. I went that route at first because of the low payment but again because of my wife it's made that situation even better for me.

I totally understand what you're saying regarding using a forum sponsor, low interest cc and paying it off fast but I have a few different things going on at the moment that make that hard to do. :)

Great looking head unit. So do these models go down in price over time?? I'm not going to be buying for probably about a year.

My guess that in a year this would be marked down in price. From the time that this had even come out this year it's gone down. Initially I saw some selling at full price around $1,700 when it was launched, then around $1,500 for quite a few places, currently there is a $100 rebate offered which dropped it to $1,400 and Wicked CAS is selling it for $1,150. I would imagine a year from now the head unit would be marked down even more. I don't know how often Kenwood releases new units but depending of it they did that could also mark it down. It's definitely a great unit and has been a lot of fun to use. They keep finding more and more to add to these things.

peleincubus 06-03-2013 05:48 PM

Wow man thanks for the info. That is a pretty substantial drop in a matter of months.

I'm trying to wrap my ahead around everything I need all the way from volume controls on the steering wheel and a USB connection in the center console. To adding a amp and subs, and replacing the speakers. A lot of information to take in.

I'm the kind of person that likes to get a good deal but also get high quality stuff. So I read read read haha

No problem at all! There has been a pretty wide range of prices since it was released. I don't expect major drops going forward but possibly slight changes. The main price right now really is the $1,400 less $100 rebate but if you search around you can find lower prices elsewhere like I said with Wicked CAS. I got mine through Amazon because I wanted to finance it over 24 months same as cash.

I am the same way as trying to find a great deal, finding high quality stuff and just researching and researching. There isn't a unit out there that has all of these functions out there besides this one and from reading reviews and even watching youtube videos which I would suggest if you haven't already is really cool. Kenwood has put out a few videos on youtube that you can watch to see how all the functions work. It's quite cool.

Pay-pal offers financing via pay later.

I do offer 12 Months interest free... financing in-store however I will need your signature on a hard copy.
