It wasn't hard at all. It comes with a fuse tap that you just plug in. Took me about a hour and a half to figure it out and do it right. It would take me 30 minutes now that I know what to do. I have pics of the install I could post if it would help.

:icon08: why remove the a-pillar cover when you can just slide the cord in with a squeegee?

I tried the squeegee and it didn't work out so well. The pillar was easy to remove, it snaps right off.

^^ sounds good to me.

i use the blendmount myself in my Z. but she's not a dd and dont park her anywhere.

when you guys dd these blend mounts, do you remove the detector all the time and leave the power cord
dangling while parked? that power cord is only pressed into the terminal pins with a ziptie holding the
cord down sort of. how is the durability?

im trying to decide if i want to get another one for my V1 in my G.

stratburst 01-28-2015 08:18 PM

I've had my installed for about 2 years now and it's good as new. There's nothing special about the cable really, it uses a rj-11 phone connector. It's tough enough but if you had a problem with it you could very easily replace it.

I installed it so that it was just long enough to plug it in so it easily tucks into the blend mount when I pull the detector out. It's not very noticeable with the legal tinted windows I have.

Another option ....

I needed a mount for my Escort 360 Max detector and Blendmount looked like it was great, but a little on the expensive side.

I found this alternative from NewEgg (actually sold by a few other vendors through them):

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...9SIAC4Z5240062

$35.99 and I can say it works just fine for my needs.

Valentine One Radar Detector

Have you never hear of the Valentine One Radar Detector ????? There is nothing like it......not only tells you where the radar is.....behind you ....to the side and even how many there are.........

and what band it is

I've had V1s since they came out in about '92. They are the best in my opinion too. I have upgraded three times through them...

Yup I got the same mount and detector... works well. I am thinking about going back to the V1 though - the MAX seems "laggy"

re: 360 Max

Yeah, I don't know? I just bought my 360 Max and have only used it on a few trips so far. Still learning how it works and responds to things.

I do know Escort has a recent firmware update out for it though, and I think if you own a Mac - they didn't update the Mac version of their updater software yet. So you have to do the update from the Windows version right now to get the latest code in it.

It supposedly fixes some of the sluggish changing of the arrows.

I know everyone loves the V1, but I couldn't bring myself to buy one of those, considering how long it's been on the market, basically unchanged. It looks like Escort has taken over much of the radar detector market in the last year or two, buying out companies like Uniden -- so I think they're a better bet to purchase going forward.

Thanks for the tip! I'll get the firmware updated and see if that helps...
