Navi Equipped Cars loose 6-CD changer?

I was looking through options on the Nissan USA website, and noticed on the Navigation Package description it says that the 6-CD changer is deleted. Does this mean that ordering the navigation system only gives a single CD system?

Also, (not sure if this is true now) earlier navigation systems always had a navigation CD that needed to be in to run the nav system - is this how the new nav system works as well? Then that would mean that there would be no free CD slots to use...

Yes, the nav package doesn't come with a 6-CD changer however the nav system ran by a hard drive rather than a CD.

This is just my opinion but who needs a 6-CD changer nowadays? The iPod interface with the touring package is beyond awesome.

I believe correct that it is only a single disk player. Also I believe that newer nav's have built in data and do not need the dvd for info.

D all the above your both correct. As well as having music box which some like and some don't. Think it will hold 2900 songs

I wondered about that....aprox. how many songs Music Box can hold. I know I've been saving cd's to mine now for over a month and it just keeps saving and saving and saving.

I just hate when Gracenote doesn't recognize the cd....all that typing can lead to a serious case of "Typing Wrist" (if that's even the correct term but it sounds good!) :p

I believe I once saw in the manual it stores at 134 kbps. Just barely over the average 128 kbps. For me I'm fine with that....just happy I can choose whatever song I want without switching out the cd. I'm easily amused, tho! :icon17:

Dude, dont type anything. Stick a compact flash in it. Look in settings select transfer missing tracks to CF. Run it through Gracenote via the internet and reload it into your harddrive. That is if it doesnot have it in the data base. if If the CD dosent have the details embedded it wont lable anything when you first record it, you have to tell it to search the data base manualy.

The crappy compression rate that ipod has convinced the world is good enough :icon17:
As an "old school" audiophile, I hate throwing away depth, detail, and air. The minimum I could tolerate for the sake of convenience is 328. I do hate constantly changing out a CD, one reason I liked the 6 disc changer ..... full bit rate CDs. When I upgrade my system I will most likely get a touch screen DVD head unit that will play MP3 on DVD, then store a lot of songs at 328 on a few DVDs........... sacrifice a little quality in exchange for convenience.
