Bose Sub-woofer not working
 

So I noticed that my bass in my stock Bose system wasn't as deep as its usually is. When I checked the sub-woofer there was nothing coming from it. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I've searched on how to trouble shoot this and I couldn't find anything. Thanks again for you your input, I really appreciate it :tiphat:

I would start with the obvious.....check your settings on your HU.
pull the sub out of the enclosure, and wire up a different speaker if you have one available, or test with a multimeter for voltage with the system turned on. if you have voltage, the sub is bad. if not, your problem is upstream somewhere.

Thank you for your input. What do you mean by checking the settings in HU? I have a 2009 stock Bose system.

I'm not familiar with the bose head unit, but I'm sure it has seperate bass, and treble controls. make sure your bass setting is not turned all the way down.
Not likely the problem, but always start with what would be the easiest fix.

Ok so I checked all the fuses and they all seem to be good. I also checked the main Amp and it seems to be powering the front speakers. I opened up the subwoofer and tested the speakers and they seem to be fine, I wonder if it's the little built in amp in the subwoofer that is bad.... Any ideas?

So I took everything apart and I think it's the built in amp that goes with the subwoofer. This is the model number: Bose 297172-003P AMP, 1000, STBB, DUAL. I wonder if there's a way to fix it like the Amp on the 350z's

I suggest to either find a used one on here or replace under warranty if the car is still under the warranty

Do you mean some amp that's inside the subwoofer unit, or the separate Bose amp in the middle of the car with the heatsink fins all over it? I have both sitting around my garage, they were working fine when I pulled them out of the car months ago.

You still haven't addressed if you checked the head unit... there is a bass control setting... make sure it is all the way up (to see if it works). If that doesn't do it, you will find a ton of them for sale I'm sure.

I'd start by replacing the sub and then move to the amp and the head unit after that... it should be one of the three unless a wire is broken.

Otherwise if you are handy or have an electrician local, have them check the voltage going to the sub.

Be sure to check the fader on the HU. Make sure it's not faded all the way forward.

I have checked the HU and I'm pretty sure it's the sub.... But I never thought of checking the wires. Thanks for your input.

Ok so my Subwoofer started working again out of the blue.... Weird.
