You might have blown one of the fuses.

Alexshen1 07-26-2012 06:26 PM

like the car tries to start, sounds like its out of battery. i can hear it for a sec but it just doesnt start. if i blew a fuse, car wouldnt make any sound right

Did you try a battery test, charge or jump to rule out battery issues?

Davey 07-26-2012 07:30 PM

Try charging the battery.

My money is on battery, get a jump a charge or a new battery.

8V is too low for battery.. should be around 12 with car off and 14 with car on.. 11 would probably be the lowest for the car to start. you mentioned yours was at 8, it probably just died from you installing the radio with the car off or maybe you shorted something out and drained the battery.. try jumper cables and charge it up.

Rule-of-thumb. Don't "just plug in whatever fit". Do a little research before doing an install. MUUUUch info on here.

you problably had the doors open the whole time and drained the battery, charge it and go.

alex- in the future, plug a battery tender while you're fiddling with your stereo for setting up eq's and stuff.

it's only like $20 on amazon and works very well. whenever i want to play something on my car stereo while in the garage with engine turned off, i just plug it in. heck, my Z is always plugged in during the week since i only pull her out on the weekends. :)

if you have a heavy setup you might want to get a digital battery charger and use 2A while you fiddle with your eq's and amps, etc.
