Installing stock navi

Is it possible to have the stock navi installed if it didn't initially come with the car? Before I bought the car, the sales man was saying that he wouldn't recommend installing it afterwards. I'm not sure if he was trying to make me order it then to get more commission or if it's the truth. Does anyone know or has done this?

Ok thanks. That's all I needed to know.

Why is it not possible?

Its definitely possible. The dealer can remove the center part of the dashboard, and install a nav-style unit (as the AC controls and etc must also be changed). The rest would be a programming issue.

What you should be asking is how much would it cost. Doing that job will require the $1800 nav charge (or more) in parts, and you also have to add in the labor cost. Plus, since not many people will be having this done, you'll be at your dealer's mercy for what they charge.

anything's possible but this job is def not worth it.

Not only that but it is different wiring harnesses and also the interrogated gps antenna that is in the car. The base dose not have that. It is just better off getting an aftermarket head unit.

I had asked this Saturday whether the Z's were prewired for the Navi....and no they are not. So you're talking a lot of wiring to make it happen. You're better off buying with the Nav Package or aftermarket unit.
