Single 10" Sub..how loud?

I'm looking to put a Polk MM1040 or maybe a JL 10w3 in the Wicked CAS Corner box I have on pre-order. Probably run either one with a 400w RMS monoblock amp of some variety.

How will this sound? I have two 6.5 amplified Polk db6501s right now. Will one 10" be pretty loud? I have never had a sub in a car this small before, and have no idea what to expect.

A rear firing sun is going to be louder than a side firing. Being that you have a hatchback design in the trunk, a 10 is going to get pretty darn loud. Going to be able to shake the windows if you have enough power, and if you want it to.

Saw a car at a show a few years back with a single !0" hit 141db. Pretty Damn loud!

wow, didn't think I'd get much out of one 10". Guess it is a pretty small area. Does anyone here run a single 10" setup?

It will be plenty for the Z.. Especially with the right amp!

My little single 8" up-firing sub shakes the rear-view mirror at medium volume level and is loud enough for my music (mostly rock and some classical music). The amp dedicated for the sub is 550 watts RMS.

I'm running a JL Audio 10w7 with a JL Audio 750/1 amp in a Zenclosure firing up and it puts out plenty.

You will be very happy.

I have one AudioBaun 10" Alum sub firing towards the rear with a hifonics 1000d amp. That thing freaking thing hits hard and clean! I thought about a single 12" sub, but glad I stuck with a 10".

Hope that helps
