Adding OEM Navigation

I really regret not getting the OEM navigation -____-

Has anyone tried purchasing the whole setup off a car from the junk yard and installed it into theirs? Just curious if this has been done, and if so how hard was it ? lol thanks in advance

Impossible. Been asked numerous times. Cheaper and easier to just trade your car in and get one with the nav.

OP look at it this way, a lot of people regret getting the stock NAV because you can not replace it. I would be one of those people that would never get factory nav if I could.

It's got more things than you can name.

Here's a guy selling the DNX9960 for an EXTREMELY good price. I've got this one and love it.

:iagree: I did this.

9960 is a slower unit. There is a lag from the time you press a button to the time it reacts. I have both units and luv the 9990HD

The main issue it is so tough is it requires rewiring not just the audio/video but also the A/C controls and I think a couple other items.
The OEM Navigation system is just integrated to deep into the car to just throw it in. Also, I have been through the parts pricing (for other reasons) and lets just say the prices are heavily inflated. The screen used is over $1,000 with no mounting equipment or cables.

On top of that the OEM nav has weak sound quality, and lacks in the many features many of the aftermarket units have. IMO the biggest benefit to the OEM nav is simply the clean look, but other than that it leaves much to be desired...
