Hi,

So I'm finally ordered some new speakers , Polk 6501, for the Z and am looking into a cheap double din. I've got my eyes on a used/refurbished Pioneer AVIC-U310BT double din off of ebay. If you have better idea for HU let me know; I'd prefer something in the $200-$250 range or cheaper.

What else would I need for the installer to install this? How much should I expect to pay?
metra axxcess steering wheel control
speaker wire
cheap rear view camera (or do I have to used pioneer brand?)
wire harness or sleeve?
metra dash kit? (since its a double-din replacing a double din i'm guessing I don't need this)

I'm being tempted by the Chinese no-name double din too I just wonder how the SQ is. I mostly listen to 320kbs MP3's.

Personally I am thinking about the

JVC KW-HDR81BT for $230. It has a lot more functionality vs the stock head unit. Plus it looks like you can get it to match with the current led's in the car.

Sorry I don't know too much about cost to install. What you will need for your install -

- Some steering wheel control unit like the Metra
- Bigger speaker wire. I'd go for 14g. Shouldn't be too expensive for the short distance the wire has to travel.
- Besides that you'll just be paying for any soldering and wire running. If you're not installing an amp it's really pretty straightforward.

You probably won't need a Dash kit to mount the unit, but it may also leave you dash unfinished.

If you take this route you'll have to sacrifice the camera idea. However, I think looking at a rear-view camera on a 4.3 inch screen even with 20/20 vision will be a bit of a debacle.

You may want to consider an amp for the db6501s. Before I had them amped, they sounded ok, but they are much better with a nice 75w-100w x 2 amp pushing them.

i might consider an amp down the line but right now I'm just gonna replace the HU and front speakers. I'm just concerned what accessories I need to install a double din HU.

so far I've got:
steering wheel control
wire harness
antenna adapter
