I know the wiring harness is needed. But is the Versa Antenna needed? and what for? thanks for the info to me, the newbie.
|
The antenna adapter is to connect the antenna to the aftermarket head unit, without it you would not be able to pick up any am or fm signals.

That is beautiful! Such a sweet install. I am curious to know how this unit would work with a HD media player such as an Archos hooked up through the USB connection. Would the Kenwood HU list files, artists, albums, tracks, display album art, etc., and allow shuffle play as well as setting up playlists? I like the fact that the unit contains a GPS and can be fitted with a backup camera. This type of setup is something that I think is great and a better option than the stock navigation system because it maintains the storage pocket above.
Thanks, Paul |
Usualy head units only recognize hard drives up to 32 gb and have to be in fat32 format so you would have to portion a drive X amount of times and store as much as you can in each one. Yes they will show WHATEVER the file name is, so if you download it from the internet and it is like johnmayerunknown32s.mp3 that is what it will show unless you update the info, by right clicking the song and click info and type it all in, I rip all my songs via original cd's so this is not big deal to me. I just use my ipod much better and much easier, itunes dose all the work.

Important Info that I forgot to add in the write up (added now) http://i576.photobucket.com/albums/s...Z/DSC01946.jpg This is the AIRBAG sensor. You must disconnect this in order to take the panel off. Now, once you're done installing and you want to test your headunit, YOU MUST connect this first. If you forget, you have to reset your airbags and it's NOT fun. Here's how to reset your airbags: http://www.the370z.com/audio-video/4...u-install.html |
