The 370z has a booster antenna built into the car. With the 350z the antenna was just exposed. You need an adapter for the booster to work and get power from the new receiver. Also it changes the plug to the one that is needed for the new aftermarket head unit. Without it you will not get any radio stations.

Thanks.
Gotta love proprietary manufacturer installations.

Here's a revised camera mounting that seems to work for now. It seems to point down too much so I may revise it again, but I need a break from this stuff for a bit. The good part is that unless you're looking from way down low, you won't even notice the camera is there.

Yea i think it should be about 30 degrees off horizontal and since yours is backwards, if you mount it verticle its going to be about 60 degrees down off horizontal. You could probably angle those little mounts you fashioned back upwards a bit. These cameras are a great deal if you get one that actually works, its just too bad that the ones we got only "sort of work"

:iagree:

Sorry for the bad luck Lance. Mine is working flawlessly! Every 30 days, I clean the lens and apply some rainX on it. It keeps the camera clear for long period of time. Btw, mine cost about $43 shipped. How much was your lance?

The seller is sending me a new unit so hopefully the new one will work properly. Mine cost $31 shipped. You can't beat the price...I just wish it would have been correct the first time around!

Sigur,
just so you know, up until this past weekend I've been testing the camera at night afterwork. When I finally used it in the day, I had the same problem. The screen was almost pure white. At first I thought maybe my video connect had come up done, but when I finally got to my desination, it was at night and the video worked again. I then tried it going from a garage to the outside like and the picture started out fine and then when snow white (over exposed) when I got in the sun. Have you discussed this issue with the seller?

I just thought you'd like to know you're not the only one having the snow white issue.

I'm hoping the new camera works or maybe I can just buy AKs off him!!!:rofl2:

:bowrofl: Maybe I should sell it for twice the price!

yeah, I have no issues in sun. Maybe I got the last best one?

Btw, this camera is so helpful especially those of us that lives in congested east coast (or maybe busy west coast or FL). Parallel parking in tight street space is a breeze with this cam.

I never did contact the seller about it. I figured it was one of those you get what you pay for kind of things. It is very useful for parking and backing with the lines on there as long as it's not sunny.

bigaudiofanat 01-04-2010 01:35 PM

AK I had no problems with the camera when in California in the sun either.

Well I got a replacement camera last week and installed it today. The good news is that the image is right side up, but like my previous over exposure problem, the replacement camera also whites out in the sun light. I also don't see the lines when the lighting is only from a garage. Do the lines show up automatically, or is there a setting on the HU I need to hit?

I also picked up an IPOD adapter cable from ebay and it doesn't seem to work with my Ipod. It's a classic model, but I thought the version was recent enough to work.

Today I also added infinity component Kappa speakers to the doors, a rockford punch 450.4 amp and a rockford P3L-s10 enclosed subwoofer. The car was in pieces all over and wires were going everywhere. I know the enclosed subwoofer isn't ideal, but I was only looking for only a little more bass and nothing that blow out the windows. Due to my wife insisting I don't take any trunk space, I just placed the subwoofer on the shelf just behind the driver's seat. My initial take it that it's enough bass for me.

One frustrating part is that now when I use my bluetooth, I can't hear the caller. The caller can hear me, but I can't hear them. Anyone else have this problem? [Never mind, I figured out I hit a button on the HU that cut off the speakers while on the cell phone.] Still figuring out the HU. It's a nice unit, but not the easiest to figure out.

In regards to your camera, have you ever thought of putting some window tint on it to see if it helps get rid of your "white out". If you want some, let me know. I've got a roll that I bought that is just sitting around. I can mail you some if you want to give it a try.

Tree,
let me see if the ebay seller has a suggestion for me. If he doesn't have a reasonable response, I'll take you up on the window tint. Nice suggestion.

Ok so I send pictures from the new camera to the seller. Good one in the garage, white one outside, OK one at twilight (almost dark outside). His reply is:
Dear my friend,
I just check the email.
The image is good, the camera haven't bad.
Because the camera is CMOS, the image not very good than CCD camera, hope you can understand.:-)
Any questions Please contact me.
Best regards
Melody
This just isn't right. It gives me a white screen 90% of the time I want to use it. I know this camera is bad. This will be the first time I leave negative feedback on ebay. Very disappointed. I'm glad the seller tried to work with me, but ultimately I didn't get a product that worked. The attached photo was taken during the daytime when the So. Cal. rain storms was passing overhead. The daylight was very muted. In normal sunlight, it's totally white.
