Any stereo competitions in your area?
I'm a Meca member, but they dont have any in jersey this year.
I like to visit local shops whenever I hear of non-sanctioned events, though, they are usually the better shows as far as seeing rides you havent seen a dozen times at sanctioned events. Any you know of nearby I'll gladly come down to.

I was in one in Warrenton, Va yesterday.

I do not know about the other posts nor care to find out but wicked has point about the car 101 post issue replies being removed. There were relevant information in those exchanges although at times contentious, it was removed in my opinion because of ruffled feathers. The unfortunate part is that knowledgeable people are dissuaded in sharing their knowledge which is a shame.

I remembered years ago at iasca, a competitor boasted that the install took him and his crew thousand of hours to complete. All of us in attendance was in disbelief that it took that long for such a lousy install. It is not about how many Z that you've done to make you an expert. No disrespect, but try being a little more humble, you might end up learning a thing or two.

:tiphat:Yeah, let me know.

As I mentioned back on that thread, I had contacted and talked to the person that was in disagreement with my compression information. I researched it and re worded and re wrote some of it. People are entitled to their opinion.

The posts were removed because they discussion and or debate was not going anywhere so I had the 3 pages cleaned up.

AS I said, I am not the one that said I am the best hands down if you read I posted this.

I agree some of the work people have had done is great, however the customers I work with usually do not have the spare time and or money to do things like that. If they did I would be happy to do them. Still there is some work that is better than mine in some areas. However I do not think shops have done as many 370z's as I have.

Forums by definition…………” A meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged”

Error by definition……….” A deviation from accuracy or correctness”

Troll by definition………” A person whose sole purpose in life is to seek out people to argue with on the internet over extremely trivial issues”

Do you really think your mistakes in “Car Audio 101” were trivial?

Agreed with Triple's.

Original Poster,
Are you looking for TOP NOTCH installer? then expect to pay $1000+ to have your audio installed by one of the TOP 100 installer in the country. But if you're looking for a installer who will install your stuff in a professional way and do a good job, You have my vote for Matt. HE has done many 370Z's so far (including mine). It's been 3 years now and not a single issue with my install (KENWOOD NAV, rear view cam, fog light, etc). He is a honest sincere guy who will take the time and do the job right and change you probably 1/10 of the money those PRO's will charge. So the choice is yours. I'm not saying he is the TOP NOTCH in the area, but I know he will do a VERY comparable job at a fraction of the PRO install cost. He has a passion for this stuff. Other than him, the other vendor we have here is Wicked CAS and they are located in NH.

As for the others, please do not troll. If you had stuff done by Matt, please put your :twocents: in so that it helps OP. If you didn't have anything done, please move on to the next thread. No need to :stirthepot:

Thanks for the input. The first guy I have gone to was rated in tlhe top 100 and he said the install and dynamat would be about $5000 and I have all the equipment. He seemed a little high. Plus, he told me that he would have to add fiberglass to my enclosure that Wicked CAS made without even seeing it.
I didn't really get a good feeling about the guy.

bigaudiofanat 05-01-2012 08:12 AM

He was giving op his opinion about his experience with an installer that is what i see. Also I have worked for 2 shops and both were called themselves "pros" but their behind the scenes work as in the stuff the customer never saw was bad to say the least. No pride in how the wires were ran crimp connectors and or t taps used everywhere. I just got the sense of "That will do" from them, and I have seen it on high end shops in California like unique whips. These shops are about how much they can pump out with max profit. Where as I do it as a hobby and to my time. Do this mean all shops are that way? NO However I have read, seen, and witnessed first hand of what shops will do when the customer is not looking. I for one encourage my customers to hang around watch and even help if they want. Not all shops are bad and I am by no means the best or the master like some. But I hope one day to be as good as some of them.

Besides I even said I am not the best I am not sure what you are looking for.

and of course all you see is his opnion, because he is promoting you, and the rest of us cant comment because we will get kicked off the site if we do...

Not at all, this is a forum a place where people come to voice their opinions. Once person posted that I am the best and 2 posts down I LOL'd and said I am not. But people still turned the thread into a debate about that. THAT is why AK and triple stepped in. Not to make people look at me like the best. Like AK said if you want the best your going to pay for it.

HEY! Look, a cat.

So far off topic.... I just had my system installed and it ran me about $1000. But it was done at a shop around here and they let me watch if I wanted. I have had other work done buy them in the past, so I know their work is solid. I did PM Big to see if he was going to be in my area for an install, but I couldn't wait a month or two. I wanted it now, so I had to pay the price for it.
