Does the rear door panel still work for the books etc behind the passenger seat?

No, the only way to get into it is to remove the panel.

In the picture the bottom panel is removed to make the pod (and put back) but the side is still in place, maybe it no longer opens (swings out)? One could just cut a larger opening so it is still usable?

No because than you would not have the space needed to mount the speaker.

In this picture you can clearly see there is a white book in the storage door. Does that door swing out at all or do you have to reach in? It still looks functional it would just be a matter of cut a larger opening if needed.

As I said NO it does not open at all the book is still there to this day as the customer did not want or need to get to it. In order to open the door you would need to remove the panel COMPLETELY to open the door.

gotcha thanks

To anyone who's considering this:

Bigaudiofanat made me a fully plug/play harness setup that worked exactly as you'd want it to. No cutting or splicing the stock components was necessary...and it was completely hassle free since I didn't have to fool with doing any of it myself. I shipped him the METRA harness, speaker adapter, parking brake bypass, pioneer harness, ASWC-1, and he shipped me back 1 harness all wired up and ready to go. Everything was heat shrunk and zip tied up nicely. He even updated my used ASWC-1 which I didn't ask for. The transaction went smoothly and he was even around to answer a few dumb questions I had during the install.

:happydance:

I wish I wasn't living on the other side of the world... Is there a way to build something like this without me sending anything over? :D

bigaudiofanat 06-07-2014 04:36 PM

No you have to send me the parts for building the pods making the harness.

This looks like just the ticket, but I don't need anything done with the harness as it is all there. I just need to pull the panels and send them to you? I tried your website, but it is no longer there or something.

I would like to get a pair of PS 165 mounted there... can you do it for me and if so how much for just the pods?

EDIT:Lovely work btw can't wait to get mine!!
