Head unit in the upper cubby?

Has anyone been able to mount an upper head unit behind the center cubby door?

Pretty easy, the upper piece is from the OEM Navigation unit (can be bought from any Nissan dealership), and then to fill in the open area or customize a lower head unit piece.

Now don't be shy Matt. Show them ur setup. ;)

I don't think there is quite enough space to mount a regular head unit up there. It would hit the brace that goes behind the dash causing the center console not to fit back in.

Yep, there is not enough room in the upper cubby for a full head unit. Here is mine:

Dreamer what did you put in the bottom section to fill in that hole?

And if I'm correct you ordered this part correct to put in the cubby area?

That looks like the right piece, will check tomorrow if I still have the exact product number.
The bottom piece, are you referring to below the upper screen? The audio shop I believe just cut and mounted a piece of hard plastic and painted to match.

Yes that is the one. This is the bracket you asked me about before BRACKET-AUDIO - 370Z (Z34) 2009+ :: Nissan Parts, NISMO and Nissan Accessories - Courtesyparts.com

I was originally going to order all the parts from Nissan, cubby area, mounts, screen, etc. then I found out the screen was $900. :wtf:

Thank you. No, it's a.. ready?... High definition, high brightness led backlit, capacitive multitouch double din version of a 669GL. Lol you can breath now. It is probably overkill but I won't settle for less. No issues viewing during bright daylight. The fact that the screen is recessed helps a lot.
