Pioneer AVH-P3400BH Questions
 

I just recently purchased a Pioneer AVH-P3400BH for my 370z. I've received my head unit and everything I need to install it besides the in dash receiver kit. I was wanting to know if anyone else has this head unit or a similar version and how the fit is in their dash. I've read a couple posts online that said it fit better without the in dash receiver kit. If anyone has pictures with this head unit or a similar one installed in the car it would be appreciated.

Pioneer + dash kit = better fit and no gap.

when i did both my G and Z i needed to make a custom trim to remove the gap.

in my G i cut the trim that came with the head unit. very clean install.
for the Z i cut some hard-felt to size and used it as gasket. very clean install.

you can get the hard felt from most art stores.

if at all possible i stay away from trim kits (ex: metra) as they dont look and fit all that great imho...

Thanks kenchan. I had read some things about the new reciever kit not really fitting around the climate control knobs. I'll probably instal it and see how it looks. If theres that gap like everyone says there is I'll probably end up modifying it like you did. Thanks again for the advice.

IMO instead of having to take the dash apart to worry about adding foam. I would just buy the aftermarket dash kit and have no gap to begin with.

np! there probably will be a gap but the gasket is easy to make. :)
